摘要:
Tools are provided for allowing ready access to information relevant to events associated with the release of hazardous materials. The tools also facilitate characterization of the events and determination of appropriate emergency responses for the events. When an indication of a hazardous material release event is received, data including information associated with the transportation of hazardous materials may be accessed to characterize the hazardous material release event. Based on the characterized hazardous material release event, appropriate responses are determined that are tailored the specifics of the hazardous material release event.

The identification of safe havens for hazardous material transports is provided. Safe havens include locations at which a hazardous material transport is less susceptible to an event that may result in a hazardous material release and/or a location at which the impact of a hazardous material release is reduced. When an event occurs indicating that hazardous material transports should be moved to safe havens, the locations of hazardous material transports are determined. Safe havens may then be determined for each hazardous material transport. In some cases, safe havens may be selected from a group of predetermined locations designated as safe havens. In some cases, locations may be dynamically designated as safe havens for hazardous material transports after the occurrence of an event. The hazardous material transports are then moved to the selected safe havens, thereby reducing their susceptibility to events and/or minimizing the impact of an event that involves a hazardous material transport.

A user interface facilitates assessing security risks for linear corridors. The interface includes a navigation window presenting geospatial data for an area associated with a corridor. The interface also includes a navigation tool having a corridor indicator that provides a diagrammatic linear representation of the linear corridor, indicia along the corridor indicator that represent critical assets, and a corridor window superimposed on the corridor indicator that slides linearly along the corridor indicator. The portion of the corridor displayed in the interface corresponds to a location of the corridor window on the corridor indicator. The interface also includes an attributes area presenting information associated with the area presented in the navigation window. At least one of the navigation window and the attributes area is configured to present risk assessment information associated with the linear corridor.

The assessment of security risks associated with linear corridors, such as transportation corridors and utilities corridors, is provided. Initially, a site is selected for evaluation. Survey data and context sensitive information, such as demographic information, environmental information, corridor asset information, and the like, is collected for the site. Linear corridors are identified within the data, and critical assets within each linear corridor are also identified. Security risks associated with linear corridors may then be assessed using the survey data and context sensitive information. In addition, mitigation strategies, response strategies, and recovery strategies may be developed for the security risks assessed for the linear corridors.
