    摘要: A method of accessing lateral branch veins of the coronary sinus with a pacing lead and guide catheter assembly. The guide catheter has an open lumen extending therethrough and a distal end provided with a pre-formed guide curve, while the pacing lead has a distal end provided with a first curve and a second curve extending proximally from the first curve. The guide catheter is inserted into an access vessel of the heart and advanced along the access vessel to the coronary sinus. The pacing lead is inserted into the guide catheter lumen and advanced distally through the guide catheter lumen. The pacing lead is rotated by advancing the second curve of the pacing lead through the guide curve to align the first curve with a pre-determined plane. The first curve of the pacing lead into one of the lateral branch veins of the coronary sinus.

The retaining feature includes at least one barb extending circumferentially around the exterior surface of the plastic tube. Each barb is sized and structured to engage an undulation of the corrugated duct.

    摘要: A catheter employs an inner guide with a pre-formed distal tip, an outer guide with a predetermined deflection location, and a proximal actuator. The inner guide can be longitudinally extended and axially rotated relative to the outer guide. The proximal actuator can adjustably change a bend angle of the predetermined deflection location. The catheter can be deployed with the inner guide retracted inside the distal end of the outer catheter. The extensible and rotatable inner catheter can be combined with the adjustable bend angle of the outer guide to provide an improved system for accessing and cannulating venous structures.

The optical switch may be a liquid crystal device that is tuned to the wavelength of the monochromatic light source. The monochromatic light source may be made from OLED material that emits in the violet, near UV or blue spectrum and may be polarized. The array of pixels may include a transmissive pixel when the backlight spectrum is the same as the color of one of the pixels.

    摘要: A guide catheter assembly for accessing lateral branch veins of the coronary sinus includes a guide catheter and a pacing lead. The guide catheter has a central lumen therethrough, a proximal end and a distal end pre-formed with a guide curve. The pacing lead is slidably receivable within the guide catheter lumen. The pacing lead has a proximal end and a distal end formed with a first curve and a second curve extending proximally from the first curve. The second curve is adapted to mate with the guide curve to direct the first curve into a selected branch vein of the coronary sinus. The second curve may be pre-formed in the pacing lead, or may be imparted to the pacing lead via a stylet or inner catheter.

    摘要: A micromechanical mirror combined with a photoluminescent screen is able to efficiently use light from the light source. In such a device, the light source produces light that is directed onto the micromechanical mirror. The micromechanical mirror then selectively reflects the light onto a photoluminescent screen. The light excites the photoluminescent screen to produce the desired picture. The photoluminescent screen may include sets of pixels that convert light from the light source to provide the desired picture. Typically, each pixel set includes a red, green and blue portion although any suitable combination of colors and number of pixels may be used. Each pixel set portion converts the light received from the light source into its respective color by photoluminescence. Alternatively, the photoluminescent screen may include transparent and/or scattering portions instead of photoluminescent portions of a certain color when the light source has a spectrum which is limited to one color.
