摘要: The present invention generally relates to a hot molten adhesive application machine. More specifically the present invention discloses a unique hot melt adhesive application machine having a novel construction whereby the reservoir of molten adhesive material is heated from within the molten adhesive. The adhesive pump, discharge hoses, and discharge applicators are heated by electrical resistance heating elements that may operate on 120 or 240 volt current. Further, a novel axial pump piston is disclosed whereby the pump cylinder bore may be machined to a lessor tolerance standard than previous pumps of this type.

摘要: A heat dissipating chimney in an apparatus for the melting and dispensing of solid and quasi-solid materials, such as thermoplastics and hot melt adhesives, is disclosed. Air convection paths are provided which control the flow of heated air from a plurality of heat sources, through the cabinet of the apparatus, eventually exhausting the heated air to atmosphere. Degradation of the performance of heat-sensitive components of the apparatus is avoided by the heat dissipating system provided by the present invention.

摘要: A system for atomizing and dispensing powder comprises a fluidized powder bed for entraining the powder fluidized in a bearing air stream, a dispenser, and a motor for rotating the dispenser. The dispenser has a somewhat bell-shaped interior. The motor has an output shaft having a first passageway extending lengthwise thereof. A feed tube extends through the first passageway. The fluidized powder is fed to an end of the feed tube passageway remote from the dispenser to be supplied through the feed tube to the interior as the motor rotates the dispenser. A diffuser is mounted within the interior. A discharge slot is defined between the dispenser and an edge of the diffuser. The feed tube is mounted so that it does not rotate with the output shaft. The diffuser includes a back side facing the interior and bounded by the edge. The back side includes a generally part-spherical concavity into which the fluidized powder is directed from the feed tube.

摘要: A device for atomizing and dispensing a first liquid coating material onto a first group of one or more articles to be coated by the first coating material and then for dispensing a second liquid coating material onto a second group of one or more articles to be coated by the second coating material. The device includes at least one atomizer providing a first flow rate of the first and second coating materials required for high quality atomization of the first and second coating materials, and a second outlet providing a second and substantially greater flow rate of the first and second coating materials and lower quality atomization than the first atomizer, or no atomization. A first conduit couples the second outlet to the first atomizer. A second conduit couples the first atomizer to a source of fluid to be dispensed. A valve controls the flow of liquid to the second outlet. Operation of the valve between dispensing of the first coating material onto articles to be coated thereby and dispensing of the second coating material onto articles to be coated thereby, coupled with dispensing of a flushing medium through the first and second conduits, flushes excess coating material simultaneously through both the at least one atomizer and the second outlet from the dispensing device.

摘要: A coating material dispensing system comprises an electrostatic high potential supply having an output terminal on which the supply maintains a high electrostatic potential, a source of coating material, and a dispenser for dispensing the coating material. The output terminal is coupled to the dispenser to supply potential to the coating material dispensed by the dispenser. A peristaltic device couples the dispenser to the source of coating material. The peristaltic device has a length of resilient conduit and contactors for movably contacting the length of resilient conduit at multiple contact points for substantially dividing the coating material in the peristaltic device into discrete slugs of coating material substantially to interrupt the electrical path through the coating material from the terminal to the coating material source. Thhe peristaltic device includes an inlet end for coupling to the source of coating material. The length of resilient conduit has a first inside transverse sectional area at a first location along its length when it is filled with coating material at the first location and a second inside transverse sectional area larger than the first at a second location along its length further from the inlet end than the first location when it is filled with coating material at the second location.

摘要: A quick disconnect for a coating material dispensing device includes a passageway through which coating material is supplied from a supply conduit for dispensing. The supply conduit includes a first region along its length provided with a surrounding O-ring. The passageway includes a sidewall providing a second region along its length in which the first region resides when the supply conduit is positioned in a use orientation in the dispensing device. The second region compresses the O-ring into fluid-tight sealing orientation against the passageway sidewall in the second region when the supply conduit is inserted into the passageway into its use orientation.
