摘要: A method for assessing the cure status of a fibrous blanket manufactured with mineral fibers and binder is disclosed and comprises a first, qualitative assessment of cure followed by a second quantitative assessment that utilizes one of alternative procedures depending on the outcome of the first, qualitative assessment. For example, a first visual inspection may qualitatively reveal areas or undercure, upon which a second pH test of samples extracted from undercured areas may quantify the degree of undercure. Conversely, if the visual inspection reveals no undercured areas, a different sampling procedure examines different blanket areas for overcure status using a similar pH test.

摘要: A pallet includes a frame and at least one rail secured to the frame. The rail has a slot which slidably receives a pin mechanism. The pin mechanism includes a pallet pin that is moveable along the entire length of the slot, wherein the pallet pin is moveable between a position flush with the frame to a position substantially perpendicular with respect to the frame.

摘要: A washing system for cleaning a moving web includes an array of a plurality of stationary nozzles arranged in sets controlled by a control valve and operated in groups. The array includes sufficient nozzle sets each having a spray width of from 5% to 50% of the web width, such that the combined spray width of all nozzle sets is necessary and sufficient to cover substantially the entire web width with cleaning spray. Groups of valves may be operated such that some nozzle sets are turned on while other remain off, thus conserving washing fluids. The nozzles operate at pressures of 1500 to 3500 psi, or 2000 to 3000 psi. Preferably the web is a continuous loop web.

摘要: An index tab assembly may include a liner sheet with an adhesive releasing surface and an overlying plastic sheet with die cut partial fold tabs therein, and with a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive between the two sheets. The tabs include two printable areas of substantially equal size and a securing area extending from one of the printable areas. The securing area has a narrow strip area adjacent the printable area which is free from adhesive. In use, the tabs are removed from the liner, the two printable areas are folded together, and the resultant step or lip and the adhesive free area cooperate to facilitate accurate placement of the index tab.

摘要: A method and apparatus for cooling a continuously moving strip of asphaltic material includes directing the asphaltic material into a plurality of loops, spraying an evaporative liquid onto the asphaltic material, evaporating the evaporative liquid by causing an array of air jets to impinge on the asphaltic material subtantially normally to the asphaltic material, sensing the surface moisture of the asphaltic material subsequent to one or more of the loops, and modifying the flow of evaporative liquid sprayed in one or more of the loops in response to the sensed surface moisture.

摘要: A sod laying self propelled apparatus having a mobile frame mounted on front and rear wheels. The frame has front and rear sections that are articulated to allow the wheels to follow rough terrain. The frame front section has a U-shaped opening to allow receipt of a roll of sod therein without lifting the roll. The frame includes sod lifting arms with a two way hydraulic cylinder to raise the roll once in the roll is in the opening and in such a manner as to generally evenly distribute weight of the roll to each of the wheels. The front wheels are swingable between outside and inside positions relative to front frame arms to change the configuration thereof and include a locking mechanism to lock the configuration. The sod lifting arms are also engageable with a cross bar on a transport truck to allow the apparatus to be rotated relative to the sod raising arms and lifted from the ground for transport. A removable forklift is mountable on the frame for removing sod from a transport truck. Each of the wheels includes a hydraulic motor and the front wheel motors may be reversed depending on their configuration to allow all the wheels to drive in the same rotational direction.

摘要: A scrubbing system for removing particulate from an air stream generated during a glass-wool insulation forming process includes a first separator system for removing at least a first portion of the particulate from the air stream, a second separator system, in the form of a single cloud generating vessel, for removing another portion of the particulate, and a third separator system for removing both moisture and a further portion of the particulate. The first separator system is designed to effectively provide a high residence or pre-treatment time for the air stream that enables fine particles to grow into larger particles which are easier to trap and collect, while also allowing the air stream ample time to cool to saturation temperatures. The first and third separator systems combine with the single cloud generating vessel to synergistically enhance the overall efficacy and efficiency of the scrubbing system.

摘要: An apparatus for filling finely powdered material into a long and narrow cavity or hole having a relatively small opening is provided. The apparatus features a discharge port for a particulate laden gas stream directed toward the opening of the hole to be filled but spaced apart from the opening of the cavity to be filled by a gap, so that in operation the powdered material continues across the gap and into the cavity due to its inertia while the gas escapes through the gap.
