    摘要： A dispensing system having a reverse taper dispensing orifice seal. The reverse tapered seal depends from a lid of a flip-top closure providing a sealing engagement with a dispensing spout of the flip-top closure body when in a closed position. As the dispensing spout may have a variety of shapes, the reverse tapered seal is shaped to conform to the irregularities of the contacted surfaces of the dispensing spout. The decreasing thickness of the reverse tapered seal decreases the complexity of the molding process as well as minimizing the weakening or breaking of the seal during removal from the mold cavity.

    摘要： A child-resistant package consists of a container having an open-ended neck and a cap having a top and an annular skirt which telescopes over the container neck. There are co-operating snap-over retainers on the exterior of the neck and the interior of the cap skirt which require the cap to be moved axially a distance greater than the axial over-lap of the retainers in order to remove the cap. The container neck and the cap skirt also have a radially extending lug and a circumferentially extending ramp that are moved into engageable alignment by flexing the cap skirt inwardly. The ramp has a surface which is inclined relative to the axis of the neck and cap skirt and which has an axial height greater than the distance of axial over-lap of the retainers. In order to remove the cap, the skirt is flexed inwardly to align the lug with the ramp surface and the cap is rotated relative to the container neck causing the cap to be moved axially a distance sufficient to disengage the over-lapped retainers. A stop bar is formed near the beginning end of the ramp which is spaced circumferentially from the ramp a distance only slightly greater than the circumferential width of the lug so that the lug must be inserted into such space when the skirt is flexed inwardly in order to engage the lug with the ramp when the cap is rotated relative to the container for removing the cap.

    摘要： A one-piece dispensing closure has an annular skirt on the inner side of which there are threads which co-operate with threads on a container neck for retaining the closure on the container. The closure has a disc-like top in which there is a dispensing opening and a lid for the opening which is an integral part of the closure and is hinged to the closure top at one edge thereof. The lid has an integral plug adapted to close the dispensing opening when the lid is swung into closing position overlying the closure top. The closure top and the underside of the lid have co-operating projections, for example, ears and a post, which function to prevent the lid from swinging to closing position when the closure is turned over to position for dispensing content material and which can be manually interengaged for retaining the lid in closing position when desired.

    摘要： The present development is for a closure which provides a means for maintaining an effective pressure against a peelable seal affixed to a container lip as the sealed container is exposed to relatively high temperature and pressure conditions. The closure includes a liner which abuts a surface of the seal so as to sandwich the seal between the liner and the container lip. The resilient liner and inner foil seal are positioned above a retaining structure and function such that the peelable seal will not rotate relative to a container rim upon engaging the container rim as the closure is rotationally applied. This functions to inhibit torque transmission from the closure to the inner seal or reseal structure and further inhibits imperfections in the container rim from scraping or otherwise damaging the inner seal.

    摘要： The present development is for a closure which provides a liner for abutting a surface and maintaining an effective pressure against a peelable seal affixed to a container lip as the sealed container is exposed to relatively high temperature and pressure conditions. The liner which abuts a surface of the seal sandwiches the seal between the liner and the container lip. The liner defines a resting thickness at ambient temperature and pressure conditions and is made from a material capable of being compressed to a thickness less than the resting thickness and of recovering to a recovery thickness sufficient to allow the liner to maintain a positive pressure against the seal upon exposure to elevated temperatures, elevated pressure, or a combination of elevated temperature and elevated pressure.

    摘要： A child resistant cap including relatively thin threads which, when the cap is in a relaxed condition, are spaced from the bottle neck, said spacing permitting the cap to be squeezed inward at points on opposite sides of the cap so that the cap responds to the squeezing by expanding outward at points ninety degrees from the squeezing points so that stops on the cap at the cap expanding location will miss the stops normally engaged when in a relaxed condition, thereby permitting the cap to be removed from the bottle. The cap may also include a guide ring in the cap interior to guide the cap over the bottle neck to help ensure that the cap is centered on the bottle opening. The cap may include pressure pads on the cap skirt outside near the cap bottom showing the user where to press and stiffening the portion of the cap where pressure is to be applied. And, the cap may include a tamper indicating ring which will separate from the cap the first time the cap is removed from the bottle. Furthermore, in an alternative cap and bottle combination, an imaginary line connecting the cap threads and an imaginary line defined by the bottle neck will intersect at an angle of from one to eight degrees, thereby providing an increasing gap between the cap threads and the bottle neck as one gets further from the cap top, this angle creating non-vertical changes to the cap or the bottle or both.
