The implant has a proximal end insertable into a crus penis and a distal end insertable into a glans penis. The tow suture is coupled to the distal end of the penile implant. The delivery cap is coupled to the tow suture and a portion of the delivery cap is shaped as a hemispherical dome. The delivery cap has an aperture that is formed in the hemispherical dome, with the aperture sized to allow the needle of the insertion tool to pass through the aperture.

The core includes a ramp and a recess that is sized to receive a portion of the door, and the door includes an inclined surface that is formed such that the distal end of the door is thinner than the proximal end of the door.
