    摘要: A medical training device facilitating practice of a task-specific medical procedure for the treatment of a traumatic injury is presented. The invention includes a simulant with or without a simulated wound and an optional case adapted to receive the simulant. For embodiments specific to establishing an emergency airway, the simulant includes a compressible body, an insert, an outer covering, and an inner covering. The compressible body and the outer covering approximate a neck with or without a chin. The insert approximates a trachea. The insert is disposed within and separable from the compressible body. The inner covering is disposed between the outer covering and the insert. For embodiments specific to an intramuscular injection, the simulant includes a compressible body, a slot, and a fill. The compressible body approximates a muscle. The slot extends into the compressible body. The slot is adapted to receive the fill. The fill is removably secured within the slot. The fill is adapted to receive a fluid from a syringe which penetrates the simulant.

The training aid may be formed of one or more separable and distinct portions including a head module, a torso module and a leg module, and combinations thereof. Appendages of the training aid may be posable, at least within a set range of motion, within any of a potentially infinite number of orientations.     摘要: A surgical training device is provided. The training device includes a model for practicing the passage of needle and suture. The model includes a base with a plurality of openings configured to receive a plurality of suture tabs. The suture tabs are made of elastomeric material. Some suture tabs includes pre-formed tab apertures for the passage of a suture. Other suture tabs include a penetrable area through which a suture needle may penetrate for passing a suture. The suture tabs are movable with respect to the base to orientate them at different angles with respect to the base. The base itself may include portions that are angled with respect to each other. The suture tabs are movable with respect to the base to pull, expose or open the tab apertures and surfaces. Some of the tab apertures are slits that open upon being pulled relative to the base requiring the user to practice holding the tab while passing the needle through the tab.

    摘要: An apparatus (100), a system (200), and a method (500) for simulating deposition of an inhaled drug on lungs of an individual are disclosed. The apparatus (100) includes a mouth-throat model (102), an inhalation device (104), and a breath simulator (106) connected to the mouth-throat model (102) for dispersing drug and respiration flow respectively in the mouth-throat model (102). The apparatus (100) also includes a controlling unit (108) in communication with the breath simulator (106) and the inhalation device (104) to detect the dispersion of the respiration flow and actuate the inhalation device (104) to disperse the drug. The respiration flow and the drug are uniformly mixed while passing through a mixing unit (110) formed downstream to the mouth-throat model (102) and the breath simulator (106). The mixture is then received by a lung cast model (112) formed downstream to the mixing unit (110) to accommodate deposition of the drug.
