Abstract: A C-RAN includes a plurality of remote units (RUs), each being configured to exchange RF signals with at least one UE. The C-RAN also includes a central unit communicatively coupled to the plurality of RUs via a fronthaul interface. The fronthaul interface includes at least one ETHERNET switch configured to perform deep packet inspection on a received packet in order to determine whether an RU identification is present in the packet. The RU identification, if present in the packet, indicates at least one RU the packet is intended for. When the RU identification is present in the packet, the at least one ETHERNET switch is also configured to communicate, for each of the at least one RU, at least a portion of the packet to the RU based on a comparison of the RU identification with at least one bit pattern for the RU.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing machine learning based location and directions for venue and campus network are provided. In one example, a system includes a BBU entity and RU(s) communicatively coupled to the BBU entity. The system further includes antenna(s) communicatively coupled to the RU(s), and each respective RU is communicatively coupled to a respective subset of the antenna(s). The BBU entity, the RU(s), and the antenna(s) are configured to implement a base station for wirelessly communicating with UEs in a cell. The system further includes a machine learning computing system configured to receive time and location data and determine a predicted density for location areas in the cell based on the time and location data. The system is configured to determine a target location based on the predicted density for the location areas in the cell and send the target location to a first UE in the cell

Abstract: Systems and methods for orchestrating a virtualized 5G gNB are provided. In one example, a system for orchestrating wireless service includes a scalable cloud environment configured to implement a base station using a plurality of virtualized base station entities. Each virtualized base station entity of the plurality of virtualized base station entities configured to implement at least some functions for one or more layers of a wireless interface used to communicate with UEs. The scalable cloud environment further configured to implement a service orchestration tool including one or more interfaces configured to receive common configuration parameters that are applicable to multiple sites of an operator and to receive site-specific configuration parameters that are unique to respective sites of the operator. The service orchestration tool configured to automatically generate deployment files for the plurality of virtualized base station entities based on the common configuration parameters and the site-specific configuration parameters.
