Abstract: Disclosed is a false lumen closure assembly for closing a false lumen in a body vessel including a compressed false lumen occluder, a carrier catheter and a retractable sheath. The compressed false lumen occluder includes a stent graft including at least one occlusive barrier across the stent graft to occlude blood flow through an interior of the stent graft. The carrier catheter carries the false lumen occluder and extends from a proximal end proximal of the false lumen occluder to a distal end distal of the false lumen occluder, and passes the false lumen occluder exteriorly of the stent graft. The compressed false lumen occluder and at least part of the carrier catheter are disposed in a lumen of the retractable sheath.

Abstract: An implantable medical device includes an elongate support member including an internal wall forming an internal lumen and an elongate flexible tubular valve member having a length, a proximal end, and a closable distal end. The proximal end of the valve member is secured to the support member and is configured to be held open thereby in a deployed condition of the device. The valve member is at least partially unstented along its length. In a deployed condition of the device, flow in a proximal direction causes the distal end of the valve member to be closed.

Abstract: A closure mechanism for closing a tubular portion of a graft that includes a closure element having aperture or looped ends. The closure element is provided around the circumference of a tubular length of graft material and is attached thereto. The closure element is biased into an annular profile by threading a release element through the ends holding them together. In its annular profile, the closure element thus holds the lumen of the tubular length of graft material in an open configuration. Withdrawal of the release element causes the closure element to take on a flat/linear profile, pulling the lumen closed as it does so. The closure mechanism can be used in a vascular implant such as a graft, stent graft, including tubular, bifurcated, and branched stent grafts, an occlusion device, or the like.

Abstract: A prosthetic graft assembly (40, 120) is disclosed for placement of a patient's aortic arch and repair of the descending aorta in a procedure which requires only a sternotomy. The assembly includes a descending graft element (40) which includes an eversible cuff (52) which can be wrapped over a cut end (26) of the descending aorta (18). Distal perfusion can be re-established prior to aortic arch replacement. A second prosthetic element (120), optimised to the patient, is fitted with a replacement for the aortic arch and attached to the descending aorta graft (40). An introducer assembly (30) having a transparent or translucent sheath (70) enables the descending aortic graft element (40) to be deployed without the use of x-rays.
