    摘要: Composition and process for treating aluminum, aluminum alloys and anodized aluminum substrates to improve the corrosion resistance and adhesive bonding strength of the aluminum substrates. The process comprises pre- or post-treating said aluminum with an acidic aqueous solution comprising, per liter of solution, from about 0.1 to 22 grams of at least one fluorometallate, about 0.1 gram up to the solubility limit of a water soluble cationic or divalent zinc compound and, optionally, effective amounts of water soluble thickeners and/or surfactants.

    摘要: Process of coating iron alloys to improve the corrosion resistance and adhesive bonding strengths. The process comprises treating the iron or iron alloys such as steel with an acidic aqueous solution comprising, per liter of solution, from about 0.01 to 22 grams of a water soluble trivalent chromium compound, about 0.01 to 12 grams of hexafluorozirconate, at least one tetrafluoroborate and/or hexafluorosilicate, at least one water soluble divalent zinc compound and from 0.0 to 10 grams of water soluble thickeners and/or water soluble surfactants.

    摘要: This invention relates to galvanic aluminum alloy powder-pigments coated with a semi-conducting corrosion inhibiting oxide and the process for preparing said coated powder-pigments in combination with film-forming binders for coating metal substrates to inhibit corrosion. The coated aluminum alloy powder-pigments are electrically active and prevent corrosion of metals which are more cathodic (electropositive) than the aluminum alloy pigments.

    摘要: Chromate-free corrosion-inhibiting coating compositions comprising film-forming binders and galvanic aluminum alloy powders prepared in an oxygen (oxidizing), nitrogen (inert) or nitrogen-hydrogen (reducing) atmosphere having particle sizes ranging up to 100 microns. The aluminum alloy powders having the formula: aluminum-zinc-X (AlZnX) wherein X is an element selected from the group consisting of indium, gallium, tin and bismuth. Improvement in corrosion protection is obtained by the addition of chemical inhibitors such as an azole or talcite clay to the coating which further inhibits the self-corrosion of the aluminum alloy and extends the corrosion protection of the metal substrate being protected.
