Abstract: Poly-V belts are disclosed that have a body in an elastomeric material, preferably EPDM, a plurality of durable filiform inserts longitudinally embedded in the body, and a coupling portion integrally connected to the body and comprising a plurality of V-shaped ribs in side by side arrangement alternating with V-shaped grooves. A layer of a thermoplastic material at least partially covers the ribs, and a knitted fabric is arranged over the thermoplastic material. Preferably, the thermoplastic material includes a polyolefin irradiated with a dose amount of radiation between 60 and 140 kGy.

Abstract: Power transmission belts have a hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene-PEG acrylate copolymer of 25% to 38% by weight by weight of at least one α,β-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile unit, 40% to 60% by weight by weight of at least one conjugated diene unit and 10% to 25% by weight by weight of at least one PEG acrylate unit derived from a PEG acrylate of the general formula (I) where R is hydrogen or branched or unbranched C1-C20-alkyl, preferably methyl, ethyl, butyl or ethylhexyl, n is 1 to 8, preferably 2 to 8, more preferably 2 to 5 and most preferably 3 and R1 is hydrogen or CH3-, where the hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene-PEG acrylate copolymer, if n is 1, does not contain any further copolymerizable monomer unit having a free carboxylic acid group.

Abstract: A transmission belt is described which comprises a body made of a first elastomeric material, a plurality of teeth and a plurality of longitudinal cords buried in the body of the belt and a back. The belt has a working surface on said teeth and the working surface is at least partially covered by a covering made of a plastic and/or metal material. Defining the area comprised between the plane defined by the neutral axis of the cords, the working surface and the median transverse planes of two adjacent teeth as the unitary longitudinal section, the covering preferably occupies at least 25% of the unitary longitudinal section.
