Abstract: A head-up display device includes a display unit that projects a display image to a windshield of a vehicle; a control board that has a control circuit, which controls the display unit; and a housing case that receives the control board and has a hollow space, which is in contact with the control board. The display unit is placed at an outside of the housing case. The housing case includes a communication passage that communicates between a duct and the hollow space while the duct conducts air, which is blown from an air conditioning device of the vehicle toward a vehicle cabin.

Abstract: A head-up display device is configured to project a display image in a vehicle onto a projection member that transmits an external real image to display the display image superimposed on the external real image for virtual image display visible to an occupant in the vehicle. A projection unit is configured to project a notification image as the display image for notifying the occupant of specific information onto the projection member. A display control unit is configured to control the projection unit to adjust a virtual image display state of the display image and to cut a virtual image display of specific pixels forming an inner portion inside an outer edge portion of the notification image.

Abstract: A head-up display apparatus includes an image display surface that displays a color image by multiple pixels, each of the pixels being divided into sub-pixels. The color image displayed on the image display surface is projected to a transparent plate member provided in front of a driver seat, and the color image is displayed superimposed to a forward scenery of the transparent plate member. The image display surface includes a first region including a center position, and a second region other than the first region. Each of the pixels in the first region includes a sub-pixel displaying red, a sub-pixel displaying green, and a sub-pixel displaying blue. Each of the pixels in the second region includes multiple sub-pixels including a sub-pixel displaying color having a color phase biased to at least one direction of a red direction, a green direction, and a blue direction.

Abstract: A head-up display device includes: a light source that emits light source light; a first light polarizer that takes out a linearly polarized light from the light source light; a liquid crystal layer, in which a display pixel that displays a picture and a non-displaying pixel which does not display a picture are able to be switched from each other, a polarization direction of the display pixel and a polarization direction of the non-displaying pixel being different from each other; and a second light polarizer. A part of the light source light corresponding to the display pixel passes through the second light polarizer by prohibiting a light of an interception axis intersecting a transmission axis while a light of the transmission axis is made to pass through.
