Abstract: An intercooler that cools intake air supercharged into an engine by a supercharger by exchanging heat with a cooling medium includes a heat exchange portion in which heat is exchanged between the cooling medium flowing inside a channel tube and the supercharged intake air flowing outside the channel tube. The cooling medium includes a first cooling medium and a second cooling medium hotter than the first cooling medium. The channel tube includes a first cooling medium channel where the first cooling medium flows and a second cooling medium channel where the second cooling medium flows. The channel tube includes a first U-turn portion forcing a flow of the first cooling medium flowing the first cooling medium channel to make a U-turn, and a second U-turn portion forcing a flow of the second cooling medium flowing the second cooling medium channel to make a U-turn.

Abstract: In an intake air cooling device, a heat-exchanging core portion in an intercooler has an intake-air downstream-side core portion and an intake-air upstream-side core portion located upstream of the intake-air downstream-side core portion in a flow of intake air. The intake-air downstream-side core portion is located upstream of the intake-air upstream-side core portion in a flow of a cooling fluid. The intercooler has a U-turn portion at which a flow direction of the cooling fluid turns around between the intake-air downstream-side core portion and the intake-air upstream-side core portion. A flow rate control device intermittently supplies the intercooler with a predetermined volume of the cooling fluid at a time. The predetermined volume is a value determined on basis of a volumetric capacity of a cooling fluid channel in the intake-air downstream-side core portion.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes: a heat exchange core portion; and a tank portion connected to the heat exchange core portion. The heat exchange core portion has a connection plate that surrounds a part of the tank portion from an outer peripheral side. The connection plate has slit-shaped openings arranged along an edge of the connection plate in a first direction. A part of the connection plate between each of the openings and the edge is deformable into a concave shape toward the tank portion. A part of the openings has a widened portion at both ends in the first direction. A width dimension of the widened portion in a second direction from the opening to the edge is larger than that of the other portion of the opening.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a plate member, a fixation member, and a brazing material pathway. The plate member has a first side coated with a brazing material, and a second side which is an opposite side of the first side and is not coated with the brazing material. The fixation member is disposed on the second side and configured to fix a position of a pipe. The brazing material pathway extends from the first side to the second side. The brazing material coated on the plate member spreads into the brazing material pathway. The pipe is inserted into an insertion hole formed in the plate member. An entire outer circumference of the pipe is swaged and engaged with an inner side of the insertion hole. The brazing material pathway is formed on at least the outer circumference of the pipe or the inner side of the insertion hole.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a duct, a core portion, and a caulking plate. The duct has an inlet and an outlet. The core portion is housed in the duct in a state where cooling plates and cooling fins are stacked in a stacking direction. The caulking plate has a frame shape corresponding to an opening shape of the inlet and the outlet and brazed to the inlet and the outlet. The caulking plate is interposed between the duct and a tank to fix the tank. A first joint between the duct and the core portion and a second joint between the duct and the caulking plate are distanced from each other in the stacking direction by a predetermined distance. The duct has a rib between the first joint and the second joint or at the second joint.
