    摘要: A composition of bio-active compounds and methods for facilitating and supporting the metabolism and transport of glucose and carbohydrates into muscle cells. Preferably, the composition of bio-active compounds include 4-hydroxyisoleucine and one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of arginine, aspartate, threonine, serine, glutamate, proline, glycine, alanine, cysteine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, ornithine, lysine, histidine and gamma-amino butyrate. In one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention, the bio-active compounds are extracted from fenugreek seeds. A method for extracting a composition of bio-active compounds from fenugreek seeds is also disclosed, wherein the method comprises the steps of: (1) providing a plurality of fenugreek seeds; (2) preparing the fenugreek seeds; and (3) extracting a composition of bio-active compounds from the fenugreek seeds, wherein the bio-active compounds comprise 4-hydroxyisoleucine and one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of arginine, aspartate, threonine, serine, glutamate, proline, glycine, alanine, cysteine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, ornithine, lysine, histidine and gamma-amino butyrate. The composition of bio-active compounds and methods for extraction of same preferably include between about 10% and 70% of 4-hydroxyisoleucine and between about 20% and 40% of the amino acids.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to novel compositions of bio-active compounds comprising 4-hydroxyisoleucine and one or more compounds selected from the group of amino acids, alkaloids, glycosides, volatile oils, saponins, sapogenins, mannans, flavonoids, fatty acids, vitamins and provitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates. Preferably, the novel compositions of bio-active compounds include 4-hydroxyisoleucine and one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of arginine, aspartate, threonine, serine, glutamate, proline, glycine, alanine, cysteine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, leucine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, omithine, proline, lysine, histidine, and gamma-aminobutyrate. The composition of bio-active compounds preferably include between about ten percent and about seventy percent of 4-hydroxyisoleucine and between about twenty percent and about forty percent of other amino acids. The bio-active compounds of the novel composition of the present invention may be derived, isolated, and/or extracted from Fenugreek seeds.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to compositions having an effective amount of Adenosine Triphosphate (“ATP”) sufficient to effect intracellular and extracellular concentrations of ATP in a mammal to improve anaerobic exercise capacity by increasing muscle size and/or strength and methods for using the same. Preferably, a gastric acid secretion inhibitory coating is applied to the effective amount of ATP in a manner that protects the ATP from degradation by gastric juices. ATP compositions of the present invention may be administered in nutraceutical or functional food dosage forms, including oral and non-oral delivery forms. In addition, the effective amount of ATP maybe combined with amino acids, botanicals, functional foods, herbals, nucleotides, nutraceuticals, nutrients, pharmaceuticals, proteins, and/or vitamins in an effort to enhance the targeted activity of the composition.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to methods for improving glycemic control in humans and animals comprising the step of administering a composition comprising an amino acid content including 4-hydroxyisoleucine in an amount between about 60% and about 70% of a total weight of the amino acid content, together with one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of glutamate, aspartate, arginine, cysteine, threonine, serine, glycine, alanine, valine, methionine, isoleucine, and histidine (inclusive of any chemical salts, anhydrides, or isomers of any of the foregoing), in addition to, alkaloids, glycosides, volatile oils, saponins, sapogenins, mannans, flavonoids, fatty acids, vitamins and provitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates. Fasting blood glucose and glucose tolerance were studied in normal human subjects, in human subjects diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome X, and in diabetic rats by means of dosing the subjects with compositions comprising 4-hydroxyisoleucine in an amount between about 20% and about 30% of the total weight of the composition, wherein improving glycemic control in standard glucose tolerance tests.
