摘要: A printing system includes a monochrome marking engine for printing monochrome images and a color marking engine which can print both color and monochrome images. A previewer identifies attributes of the print job, for example, for each page, identifying any monochrome and color images. A user interface enables a user to select a print mode for the print job from a plurality of print modes. A scheduler is responsive to the previewer and the user interface for assigning pages of the print job among the marking engines based on the attributes of the print job and the user-selected print mode. A marking engine controller is in communication with the scheduler for controlling the at least one monochrome marking engine to render pages of the print job assigned thereto and for controlling the at least one color marking engine to render pages of the print job assigned thereto.

摘要: A method of printing includes processing a print job stream to identify one or more images to be printed on a first substrate. The first substrate has a substrate attribute, such as paper weight or surface roughness, which is different from that of a second substrate. A marking engine is selected to print the identified images on the selected first substrate. An operating parameter of the marking engine is modified from a set point for the second substrate to a modified set point for the first substrate, to accommodate the substrate attribute of the selected first substrate. The identified images are sent to the selected marking engine to be printed.

摘要: A printing system includes first and second marking devices for applying images to print media. A primary fusing device is associated with each of the first and second marking devices for applying a primary fusing treatment to the images applied to print media by the first and second marking devices. A secondary fusing module receives printed media from the first and second marking devices, the secondary fusing module including first and second secondary fusing devices which selectively apply a further fusing treatment to the images applied to the printed media.

摘要: A printing system includes first and second marking devices for applying images to print media. A first primary fusing device is associated with the first marking device for applying a primary fusing treatment to the images applied to print media by the first marking device. A second primary fusing device is associated with the second marking device for applying a primary fusing treatment to the images applied to print media by the second marking device. At least one secondary fusing device receives printed media from the first and second marking devices. The secondary fusing device selectively applies a further fusing treatment to at least a portion of the images applied to the printed media to increase a uniformity of an appearance characteristic between printed images generated by the first marking device and the second marking device.

摘要: A printing system includes a plurality of marking engines. The marking engines selectively receive at least one replacement module, such as a toner or ink cartridge. The replacement module includes a consumable such as toner or ink, which is consumed during rendering of images by the respective marking engine. A scheduling system assigns images to the marking engines for rendering on a print medium, such as paper. The scheduling system has a mode of operation in which images are selectively assigned to the marking engines to balance usage of the consumable by the marking engines.

摘要: A self-lubricating residual toner cleaning apparatus is provided and includes (i) a cleaning blade member for removing charged loosened residual toner particles having a first polarity from a toner image bearing surface at a first point; (ii) a disturber fiber brush, mounted at a second point for loosening residual particles from the surface; (iii) a reversible bias source connected to the disturber fiber brush for normally biasing the disturber fiber brush to a second polarity to attract the residual toner particles; and (iv) a controller connected to the reversible bias source for periodically reversing the normally biasing polarity from the second polarity to the first polarity momentarily repelling loosened residual toner particles from the disturber fiber brush back onto the surface, thereby providing a relatively increased amount of residual toner particles on a portion of the surface for contacting and lubricating the cleaning blade member.

摘要: The instant-mount aspect of the present invention allows a user to rapidly accurately dismount a mounted CNC calibration device from a CNC work table, and rapidly replace the CNC calibration device to its previously mounted position within 0.0001, in seconds. The alignment aspect of the present invention allows faster and more robust high-accuracy alignment of a CNC calibration device once it is mounted on a CNC work table. The remote nest aspect of the present invention allows rapid re-positioning of a CNC calibration device within a CNC milling machine cabinet in a way that does not disrupt the data connection between the CNC control computer and the CNC calibration device, and allows for utilization of more of the worktable surface during milling operations.
