摘要: A method of equalizing production on a split fiber glass forming bushing is described involving averaging the temperature measured across a bushing face plate, and controlling the power input to the bushing in response to that measured average. The two halves of the bushing are controlled by placing a variable resistor in the power supply lines to the bushing and adjusting current input to the sides in response to variations in weight or yardage measured for the two strands produced by the split bushing.

摘要: This invention relates to coating materials for fibrous glass and particularly to non-migrating forming size compositons for glass fibers, namely an aqueous size composition comprising a starch solution containing swollen but unburst partially cooked starch granules made from an amylaceous material.

摘要: A method for producing glass fibers is disclosed. The glass filaments are brought into contact with the surface of an applicator for coating the filaments with a binder and/or size only when production quality strand is being produced. When waste strand is being produced, the filaments are removed from contact with the applicator surface. This substantially reduces binder and/or size consumption and prevents the operator of the forming position from coming into physical contact with binder and/or size coated strand.
