    摘要: An apparatus determines a position of a tire on a vehicle including a tire-based sensing unit, each tire on the vehicle having an associated tire-based sensing unit. Each tire-based sensing unit includes a first sensor mounted for rotation with the tire and for generating a first sensor signal indicative of such rotation, a second sensor mounted for rotation with the tire and for generating a second sensor signal indicative of such rotation, and a transmitter for transmitting a signal indicative of a phase relationship between the first and second sensor signals. An axle position sensor is provided for determining each tire-based sensing unit position relative to a front and rear axle of the vehicle and provides an axle position signal for each tire-based sensing unit. A controller monitors the transmitted phase signals of each tire-based sensing unit and the determines axle position signals. The controller compares the tire-based sensing unit phase relationships for possible tire locations considering the determined axle positions of the tire-based sensing units, determines a confidence value by weighting the compared phase relationships, compares the phase difference of each tire-based sensing unit relative to the phase difference of other tire-based sensing units for each possible vehicle tire location, and associates each tire-based sensing unit with a vehicle location in response to the confidence values.

    摘要: An apparatus determines a position of a tire on a vehicle including a tire-based sensing unit, each tire on the vehicle having an associated tire-based sensing unit. Each tire-based sensing unit includes a first sensor mounted for rotation with the tire and for generating a first sensor signal indicative of such rotation, a second sensor mounted for rotation with the tire and for generating a second sensor signal indicative of such rotation, and a transmitter for transmitting a signal indicative of a phase relationship between the first and second sensor signals. An axle position sensor is provided for determining each tire-based sensing unit position relative to a front and rear axle of the vehicle and provides an axle position signal for each tire-based sensing unit. A controller monitors the transmitted phase signals of each tire-based sensing unit and the determines axle position signals. The controller compares the tire-based sensing unit phase relationships for possible tire locations considering the determined axle positions of the tire-based sensing units, determines a confidence value by weighting the compared phase relationships, compares the phase difference of each tire-based sensing unit relative to the phase difference of other tire-based sensing units for each possible vehicle tire location, and associates each tire-based sensing unit with a vehicle location in response to the confidence values.

The controller provides an error signal when the sensed tire pressure is less than a set threshold value Pset and resets the error signal when the sensed tire pressure is greater than a reset threshold value Prst. The receiver/controller determines the set threshold value Pset and the reset threshold value Prst as a function of a calculated warm tire pressure value Pwarm, determines a mole value N of the tire pressure, and adjusts the determined set threshold value Pset and the reset threshold value Prst in response to the vehicle ignition state and a change in the determined mole value N. A display is provided for displaying the error signal from the vehicle-based receiver/controller.

This may involve monitoring a parameter of a tire of a vehicle over time and comparing information regarding the monitored parameter (over time) with a reference threshold value of the parameter (over time). The method may also include providing information to a driver based on the comparison. The parameter may be acceleration (axial, radial or longitudinal) along an axis of the tire. The parameter may also be tire imbalance, temperature inside the tire, speed of the tire, load and/or pressure, for example. Information regarding the comparison may be transmitted to a driver if the monitored parameter exceeds the reference threshold value for a predetermined amount of time.

    摘要: An improved current sensing circuit is provided in, or for use with, a power delivery circuit having a current controlling device of the type which includes auxiliary current sensing terminals. The current sensing circuit is particularly useful in conjunction with a respective current sensing power MOSFET located in the "high side" of a switching circuit, such as an H-bridge switch for a bidirectional load. The current sensing circuit has two branches connected to the current sensing MOSFET and to a reference potential and constructed to provide an output voltage signal representative of the main current through the current sensing MOSFET. The first branch includes at least two transistors and a resistor serially connected between a current sense terminal of the MOSFET and a reference potential. The second branch also includes at least two serially connected transistors connected between a terminal of the MOSFET and the reference potential. The transistors are cross-connected between branches and provide an inverted current mirror and a current mirror. Fifth and sixth transistors may also be included as part of the current sensing circuit.

    摘要: An apparatus determines a condition and relative location of an inner tire and an outer tire of a tire pair. Each tire has an associated tire-based sensor assembly that senses a tire condition, senses acceleration, and transmits, in response to its associated acceleration signal, having a unique tire identification and associated sensed tire condition. A tire rotation sensor senses rotation of the tire pair during vehicle movement and provides a tire rotation signal indicative thereof. A vehicle-based controller associates each of the unique identification signals with one of the inner tire location and the outer tire location responsive to a phase relationship between the received transmitted signals from the tire-based sensor assemblies and the tire rotation signal.
