摘要: An endoscopic swab device comprising an elongated housing, a swab operatively associated with a distal end of the elongated housing and a connection member for connecting the swab relative to the housing and extending through the housing. A rotatable member is positioned on the housing to engage the connection member and further prevents separation of the swab from the housing. The tautness of the swab may be adjusted by rotating the rotatable member which positions the swab longitudinally relative to the elongated housing.

摘要: Provided is a method for managing virtual private network (VPN) access to a network that is partitioned into a plurality of subnetworks (subnets). The method includes providing first information associated with hardware hosted on one or more subnets of the network; providing second information associated with users for VPN access, where the VPN access for each user is determined by a list of hardware each user has permission to access; detecting a hardware triggering event corresponding to a modification of the first information; and responsive to the detection of the hardware triggering event, automatically updating the second information based on the modification of the first information.

摘要: A surgical instrument includes at least one member fabricated with a material which is capable of deforming in the presence of a deforming agent such as water, organic solvent, air, heat, light, etc. Thus, a disposable surgical endoscope is provided wherein a lens mounting element for aligning a lens assembly of the endoscope with the other optical components of the instrument is fabricated from a polymer which deforms when exposed to, e.g., water or organic solvents. Deformation of the lens mounting element causes the lens assembly to shift out of optical alignment with the other optical components of the device, thereby disabling the instrument.

摘要: A multi-use disposable endoscope capable of being sterilized and reused for a number of surgical procedures and then discarded is disclosed. The endoscope is adapted to withstand a number of sterilization cycles without experiencing degradation of the functional systems of the scope, and yet retains the cost effective qualities of a disposable endoscope. The endoscope preferably is formed in accordance with methods utilized for manufacturing a disposable endoscope, e.g., incorporating inexpensive plastic components for the housing sections of the scope as well as for the various systems of the scope. Particular attention is directed to adequately sealing potential leakage areas of the endoscope, such as the distal end of the endoscope and the juncture of the endoscopic portion and the eyepiece section.
