    摘要: A vacuum cleaner assembly (10) is disclosed that includes a main housing (12) having an inlet (14) and an outlet (16). A motor (17a) is disposed within the main housing (12) between the inlet (14) and the outlet (16) for providing motive force to a cooling fan (17b), a blower (17c), and a separator (22). The cooling fan (17b) is mounted within the main housing (12) above the motor (17a) to circulate cooling air around the motor (17a). The blower (17c) is mounted within the main housing (12) below the motor (17a) for drawing air into the inlet (14) and exhausting air outwardly through the outlet (16). The separator (22) is mounted below the blower (17c) for circulating the air and water bath (20) within a water bath pan (36) and providing, in combination with the water bath (20), a primary filter for filtering the air prior to exhausting the air outwardly through the outlet (16). A second filter (24) is a high efficiency filter for filtering microscopic dust and dirt particles that escape the separator (22) and water bath (20) and is disposed after both the water bath (20) and the separator (22) and before the outlet (16) for additional filtering of the air prior to being exhausted. The second filter (24) is disposed in a recess (26) which is integral with the main housing (12) allowing for direct and efficient flow of the air through the water bath (20), separator (22) and second filter (24).

    摘要: A cleat for attachment to a device having a power cord. The cleat includes a center support attached to the device for selectively retaining the power cord adjacent to the device. A pair of cord retaining arms extend from the center support in opposite directions. The pair of cord retaining arms are supported by the center support for rectilinear movement between an extended position forming a cord wrapping pocket between each of the arms and the device for retaining the power cord about the center support and in the pockets and a retracted position closing the arms for releasing the power cord from the center support. In a preferred embodiment, the cleat further includes an intercoupling mechanism interconnecting the pair of arms for synchronous movement of one of the arms in response to the rectilinear movement of the other arm. The synchronous movement is movement in a direction opposite and through the same distance as the other arm. The intercoupling mechanism includes a first rack attached to one of the arms, a second rack attached to the other arm, and a ring gear meshed between the first rack and the second rack.

    摘要: For a vacuum cleaning unit, a cleaning tool employing a rotatably driven brush and having a split manifold therein which allows a vacuum airflow to be directed to the outermost longitudinal ends of the brush without interference with a drive belt rotatably driving the brush at its approximate longitudinal midpoint. The cleaning tool includes an upper housing having a centrally disposed cut-out portion and a semi-circular portion for partially housing the brush therein. A cut-out is formed in a base portion of the upper housing. A lower housing also has a cut-out shaped identically to that of the cut-out portion of the upper housing. A front sole plate is included which is secured to the lower housing and which includes a pair of openings separated by a central portion, where the openings allow portions of the brush to protrude. Each of the upper and lower housings further have runner portions which form airflow channels through which a vacuum airflow may be generated. When the upper and lower housings are secured together, a drive belt is able to extend through the centrally disposed cut-out portion, the cut-out portion in the base of the upper housing and the cut-out portion in the lower housing to engage at its approximate longitudinal mid-point. The apparatus thus allows a brush to be rotatably driven from its approximate longitudinal mid-point while providing an increased vacuum airflow to the outermost end portions of the brush. In an alternative embodiment, a snappingly engageable front sole plate is provided which allows quick and easy access to the interior of the cleaning tool with the need to remove threaded fasteners or the like, or the need for any external tools.

    摘要: A filter assembly for a vacuum cleaner that includes a main housing having an inlet and an outlet. A motor moves air from the inlet to the outlet, and a first filter is arranged between the inlet and the outlet for filtering the air. An inner wall and an outer wall that is spaced apart from the inner wall form a cavity between the walls. The cavity is located between the first filter and the outlet. The inner wall has an inner opening that permits air to flow from the first filter into the cavity, and the outer wall has an outer opening. A back cover is removably secured to the outer wall over the outer opening to seal the cavity and guide the air from the cavity to the outlet. The back cover includes an access opening that is removably secured to the back cover over the access opening to seal the access opening. A filter cartridge is removably disposed within the cavity. The filter cartridge has a first side with a first opening and a second side opposite the first side and adjacent to the access cover with a second opening. The filter cartridge has a second filter, such as a HEPA filter, disposed therein between the first and the second openings for further filtering the air. A portion of the first side is in sealing engagement with a portion of the inner wall such that the first opening is aligned with the inner opening wherein the motor moves the air from the inner opening to the second opening.
