摘要: A communication system (500) comprising a plurality of devices (101–106) interconnected via a bus, the bus being capable of handling isochronous and asynchronous transmissions. A status manager (105) maintains an isochronous status channel for broadcasting status information on the isochronous status channel. Devices (101–106) can send status information to the status manager (105) so it can broadcast it over the status channel. The devices (101–106) can then tap into the status channel to read the status information if they support it, or use conventional asynchronous messages to obtain the status information otherwise. Information on the status channel is only sent once, which saves bandwidth. This information can be about the network topology of the communication system (500), about capabilities of a device (101–106) in the communication system (500), about available bandwidth on the bus, or about the strength of a level of attachment between a mobile device (520) and a base station device (106) in the communication system (500).

摘要: Apparatus and method for commissioning a wireless communication link between a remote controller device (24) that transmits a signal and a remote controlled device (11) that receives the signal include a first button (40) that is recessed within the housing of the remote controller (24) that can be pressed to cause the remote controller (24) to transmit a commissioning signal. A second button (50) that is recessed within the housing of the remote controlled device (11) can be pressed to cause the remote controlled device (11) to receive and learn the commissioning. The remote controller (24) and the remote controlled device (11) have complementary mating structures carried thereon that will simultaneously operate the first and second buttons when the remote controller (24) and the remote controlled device (11) are physically mated with another.

摘要: The system and method of the present invention provides a content system 100 and method having only relations between content 104 (e.g., relations between music, CD-cover and lyrics), and the content itself 103, and excludes any context-of-use information. Since any product or appliance 106 configured with an embodiment of the present invention (e.g. CD-player or Picture-viewer) is in the context-of-use, it is left to the product or appliance to distinguish content from content descriptions. Alternatively, an embodiment provides a post-processing system 105 that supplies a context.

摘要: A communication system having a controlled device (105), for which an abstract representation (AR) (107) is provided as interface on a controlling device (103). When the quality of the connection between the controlling device (103) and the controlled device (105) drops below a predetermined level, or if some similar criterion is met, the system selects a second controlling device (104) which is better suited for controlling the controlled device (105) and generates a migration event to indicate this. The first controlling device (103) transfers control over the controlled device (106) to the second controlling device when it receives said migration event. This can be done by uploading the AR (107) to the second controlling device (105), possibly supplemented with the current state of the AR (107) to perform a fully transparent transfer.

摘要: An interactive method and system include a card (310) including scene data, a reader (320) configured to read the scene data, and a processor (350) configured to activate at least one controllable device (340) in accordance with the scene data to provide a scene associated with the scene data. The controllable device, such as a light source and/or a projector/display is activated in response to inserting the card (310) into a slot of the reader (320) or placing card on (310) a surface (232) of the reader (320). The processor (350) is configured to allow for adjustment of attributes of the scene by a user, including changing intensity and/or color of the scene or of the controllable devices (340) that provide the scene.

摘要: A lighting system (100) includes a lighting module (110) configured to accept a light source, and a controller (120) configured to be linkable to the lighting module (110). A link between the controller (120) and lighting module (110) is establishable by exchanging between the controller (120) and lighting module (110) at least one of a module link identity of the lighting module and a controller link identity of the controller. The link may be establishable based on a gesture including pointing the controller (120) to the lighting module (110), touching the controller (120) to the lighting module (110), and/or selecting the lighting module (110) from a display.

摘要: A method and system are provided for electronic devices (10i, 30i, 40i, 50i, 60i) in a home network to have a sense area (310) for detecting one another. This sense area (310) eliminates participation of outsiders in a home network (100, 300, 400, 500, 600). To allow sense areas that are particular (110) to a given device type, in an alternative embodiment, the size and shape of the particularized (110) sense areas can be made to depend on device characteristics, such as portability, and the sensitivity of the device can be adjusted to meet device requirements. Devices (10i, 30i, 40i, 50i, 60i) are placed near to one another to form a network and if no device is sensed communication and display of one another's user interfaces is optionally disabled so others cannot see the device, e.g., when the device (10i, 30i, 40i, 50i, 60i) is removed from its home network (100, 300, 400, 500, 600).
