Abstract: A method to coordinate network components is proposed. At least one first logical component and at least one second logical component are provided. Each of the components corresponds to a specific application and communicate with each other via a network on a communication plane that is substantially independent from an application plane. According to the method, a communications connection is established between the at least one first logical component and the at least one second logical component at the initiative of one of the at least one first logical component and the at least one second logical component, functioning in response to a specific event that concerns at least one of the at least one first logical component and the at least one second logical component. Moreover, an information message is transmitted via the established communications connection from the at least one second logical component to the at least one first logical component, the information message including at least information with respect to a current application status of the at least one second logical component. In addition, the information of the transmitted information message in the at least one first logical component is compared with corresponding information stored in a nonvolatile memory.

Abstract: An addressing apparatus and a corresponding method are described, such that addressing of network components, which are connected via a bus and which each have an address including a permanent base address and an offset address linked thereto, is accomplished with a device for transmitting the address via the bus. A coding device, insertable between the bus and a relevant network component, for defining the corresponding offset address using one or more predetermined coding signals generated thereby, is additionally provided. It is possible thereby to achieve a simple manner of addressing components (which preferably have identical functions and identical base addresses) that requires no manual action by the user on the components.

Abstract: A method for controlling the transmission of information between components, preferably in a motor vehicle, these components being either data sources or data sinks, wherein a double cascade separates the data transmission of the service components and from that of the music components. The data of the two data cascades can be mixed by means provided in the audio/video sink.

Abstract: A device for driving a cylinder (1) of a printing machine has an electric motor (3) whose rotor (14) is arranged coaxially with respect to the cylinder (1) and is firmly connected so as to rotate with the latter, and whose stator (15) is held on a frame construction (2) in which the cylinder (1) is mounted such that it can be displaced axially. Abstract: A method for controlling the transmission of information between electronic components in a motor vehicle, which components can be either data sources or data sinks, in which a cascade design is used to facilitate the transmission of information. By separating the control signal from the actual streams of data, a flexible, chain type of structure is obtained.
