    摘要： The document discusses, among other things, apparatuses, assemblies, and methods for facilitating the installation of an implantable lead into a subject. In one example, the apparatus includes a housing having a lead terminal passageway on a first end and having an introductory opening on a second end. The lead terminal passageway is adapted to be inserted over a lead terminal end. The introductory opening is adapted to accept a stylet and guide it into a pin lumen. In another example, the apparatus includes one or both of at least one protective terminal contact device and a securing contact device allowing electrical contact to be made with a lead terminal ring or a lead terminal pin without damaging or bridging between such elements of the lead terminal end. The securing contact device is also adapted to mechanically engage the lead terminal pin thereto for facilitating actuation of fixation devices.

The lead further includes an outer terminal ring, a terminal pin, and an insulative sleeve disposed between the outer terminal ring and the terminal pin, where the insulative sleeve is coupled with the outer terminal ring with a snap-fit connection. A pin latch is disposed on an outer periphery surface of the insulative sleeve, where the pin latch is rotatable about a hinge point.

An electrical contact support member is welded to the edge of the sidewall and affixed to the support member are a plurality of spring members that are tangent to an imaginary circle whose diameter is slightly less than the outside diameter of the lead terminal contact rings. When the contacts are axially aligned in the device header, the terminal of an electrical lead may be longitudinally inserted into the header to establish electrical contact with device feedthrough wires that are joined to the electrical contacts in the header.
