Abstract: A robotic system with autonomous gripper selection is disclosed. Sensor data is received from a sensor in a workspace. The sensor data is used to determine an end effector to be used to perform a task with respect to an object in the workspace. The determined end effector is autonomously mounted on a free moving end of a robotic arm comprising the robotic system, and the robotic arm and end effector are used to perform the task with respect to the object.

Abstract: A vacuum cup connected to a robotic arm for picking and placing items is disclosed. The vacuum cup includes one or more walls that defines (i) a first internal cavity and (ii) an opening to the first internal cavity, wherein the first internal cavity is defined at least in part by an interior surface adjacent to the opening to the first internal cavity, the interior surface defining an internal ridge positioned to mechanically engage a material drawn into the first internal cavity through the opening at an angle such that the mechanical engagement resists the material being removed from the first internal cavity via the opening. In response to the item being engaged and the suction system controlling the pressure within the first internal cavity to create a vacuum seal between the vacuum cup and the item, at least part of the item is caused to enter the first internal cavity at least during engagement of the vacuum seal.

Abstract: A repositionable riser is disclosed. The repositionable riser may be used in connection with a robotic arm deployed in a workspace. In various embodiments, the repositionable riser includes a riser having one or more mounting locations at or near an upper end of the riser configured to fixedly mount an equipment on the riser, a lateral translation subsystem comprising a carriage on which the riser is mounted and a set of one or more elongated structures that define a constrained lateral path along which the carriage is movable, the path including a first end associated with active use of the equipment and a second end not associated with active use of the equipment, and an anchor structure to which one or both of the carriage and the riser are configured to be coupled to secure the riser at the first end.

Abstract: The present application discloses a method, system, and computer system for controlling a gating structure to mediate a flow of items an input source to a pick area. The system includes: (i) the gating structure, which is configured to use a plurality of gate elements to mediate a flow of items from the input source to the pick area, (ii) a sensor configured to provide a sensor output associated with the pick area, and (iii) a processor configured to provide a control input to the gating structure to adjust a configuration of one or more of the plurality of gating elements based at least in part on the sensor output. The system includes a communication interface, and one or more processors coupled to the communication interface and configured to: receive, via the communication interface, data associated with a plurality of items within a workspace, determine to control a flow of items on a chute based at least in part on the data associated with the plurality of items within the workspace, and in response to determining to control the flow of items, implement to control the flow of items at least by controlling a flow disrupter move in a manner that causes the flow of items to change, wherein the flow disrupter is flush with the chute when the flow disrupter is not deployed to impede the flow of items.
