Abstract: Some implementations involve determining a noise metric and/or a speech intelligibility metric and determining a compensation process corresponding to the noise metric and/or the speech intelligibility metric. The compensation process may involve altering a processing of audio data and/or applying a non-audio-based compensation method. In some examples, altering the processing of the audio data does not involve applying a broadband gain increase to the audio signals. Some examples involve applying the compensation process in an audio environment. Other examples involve determining compensation metadata corresponding to the compensation process and transmitting an encoded content stream that includes encoded compensation metadata, encoded video data and encoded audio data from a first device to one or more other devices.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products of preparing an audio signal for playback on a monaural playback device A system receives an audio signal including one or more components, the one or more components including sound from one or more audio sources. The system processes the audio signal to create a monaural signal. The processing includes introducing one or more monaural cues into at least one component of the one or more components. The monaural signal maintains a presence of the one or more monaural cues. The system then provides the monaural signal to the monaural playback device or to a storage device. The one or more monaural cues are such that, if the monaural signal is played back to a listener using the monaural playback device, the listener experiences a perceived differentiation in direction of the one or more components and/or the one or more audio sources.

Abstract: A method for generating mastered audio content, the method comprising obtaining an input audio content comprising a number, M1, of audio signals, obtaining rendered presentation of the input audio content, the rendered presentation comprising a number, M2, of audio signals, obtaining a mastered presentation generated by mastering the rendered presentation, comparing the mastered presentation with the rendered presentation to determine one or more indications of differences between the mastered presentation and the rendered presentation, modifying one or more of the audio signals of the input audio content based on the indications of differences to generate the mastered audio content. With this approach, conventional, typically stereo, channel-based mastering tools can be used to provide a mastered version of any input audio content, including object-based immersive audio content.
