摘要： Disclosed is a proximity ventilated cooking range adapted for countertop installation in a conventional stack-on kitchen cabinet. The surface heating units and ventilating air intake rest over a cut-out portion of the cabinet countertop with a ventilating air plenum and motor driven fan depending from the top surface of the range and disposed in the underlying cabinet. A housing enclosing an electronic air filtering unit is mounted closely adjacent the ventilating air plenum with a duct connecting the discharge of the fan and the interior of the filter unit housing. After moving through the filter unit, the air exits from the housing through a discharge opening at the front of the cabinet into the kitchen environs.

摘要： A rod-drawn pump for use in a well includes a tubing and a rod reciprocating within the tubing to move a plunger in a series of alternating upward strokes and downward strokes. The plunger defines a pump chamber with a standing valve through which liquid from the well passes during the upward stroke of the plunger. During the downward stroke, the liquid in the pump chamber passes through a traveling valve in the plunger and into a particular cavity defined by the plunger and a third valve. During the next upward stroke, the liquid in the particular cavity passes through the third valve to produce a column of the liquid which is eventually lifted from the well. The third valve supports the column of the liquid during the next downward stroke so that the traveling valve in the plunger is open when it contacts the surface of the liquid in the pump chamber. This inhibits gas and liquid pound during the downward stroke. Portions of the rod at least partially define a passage which bypasses the third valve near the end of the downward stroke to substantially fill the particular cavity prior to the upward stroke. This inhibits any gas or liquid pound which might otherwise result during the upward stroke.

摘要： A combined microwave and self-cleaning oven has a choke surrounding the oven liner with the opening of the choke cavity adjacent the lip of the liner. The choke cavity has a rib at each of several groundpoints to trap air within the cavity. This trapped air thermally insulates the oven liner lip region so that pyrolytic self-cleaning of the oven can be accomplished without the aid of a mullion heater. For best electrical effectiveness, the choke groundpoints are preferably spaced a distance of between one-half and one wavelength.

摘要： An induction cooking cartridge is disclosed which includes an internal fan for cooling the various induction heating components. The cooking cartridge is constructed so that a unique airflow path is defined with cooling airflow entering the mounting recess in at least two areas and entering the cartridge cavity at the bottom and at the top. The airflow is directed over the induction heating circuitry for cooling it and then is exhausted through the fan to an exhaust conduit which surrounds the exhaust opening and conducts the exhaust air to the kitchen environment.

The microwave oven includes a magnetron for producing microwaves used for heating and a half-wave voltage doubler for supplying half-wave pulsating DC voltage to the magnetron. In order to vary voltage and thus power output of the magnetron, the charging of the capacitor in the half-wave voltage doubler is controlled by a variable resistance connected in series with the rectifier in the otherwise conventional half-wave voltage doubler.
