摘要: A method for controlling a well pumping system is provided. The method includes the steps of entering a pump intake depth, a minimum fill preset, a maximum fill preset, and a gain value into a controller for the well pumping system, and determining a fluid over pump level. If the fluid over pump level is zero, the method calls for setting a target pump fill equal to the maximum fill preset. If the fluid over pump level is not zero, the method calls for calculating a fluid over pump ratio using the pump intake depth, and calculating the target pump fill using the fluid over pump ratio and the gain value. Further, the method includes calculating a pump fill error as the difference between the target pump fill and an actual pump fill. The method further includes controlling a pumping speed of the well pumping system based on the pump fill error.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for operating a rod pumping unit for a wellbore are provided. One example method includes measuring vibration data in the time domain using at least one sensor coupled to a housing for a moving component of the rod pumping unit; converting the vibration data in the time domain to vibration data in the frequency domain; determining that: (1) at least one frequency component of the frequency-domain vibration data in a first frequency band has a power above a first threshold; or (2) a number of frequency components of the frequency-domain vibration data in a second frequency band having power above a second threshold is above a third threshold; and outputting an indication based on the determination.

摘要: An oil well pumping unit. The pumping unit has a vertical support column residing adjacent a horizontal support base at a generally transverse orientation. The pumping unit has a standing sheave fixed proximate an upper end of the vertical support column, a carrier bar configured to be attached to a polished rod along the front face of the vertical support column, and a traveling sheave configured to move up and down along the vertical support column. A near-vertical actuator resides along the horizontal support base, and is connected to the traveling sheave. Cyclical movement of the linear actuator causes the traveling sheave to reciprocate up and down along the vertical support column such that upward movement of the traveling sheave produces a downstroke of the polished rod, while downward movement of the traveling sheave produces an upstroke of the polished rod. The linear actuator remains in tension at all times during movement of the polished rod.

摘要: Systems and methods provide real-time optical monitoring and control of well operations using digital cameras and image analysis. The systems and methods deploy one or more digital cameras in place of or in addition to conventional sensors to capture images of a well pump during well operations. The images may then be analyzed using image analysis algorithms and programs to measure a height, position, shape, and other measurements for certain components of the well pump relative to previous images. These image-based measurements may then be used to determine various operational parameters, such as pump speed, pump load, and other operational parameters. The operational parameters may then be processed by a pump control system to optimize pump operations based on the operational parameters.

摘要: In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, a hybrid drive system that uses multiple sources of mechanical energy to drive a pump is provided. The hybrid drive system may include a first mover for generating first mechanical energy, a pump, a drivetrain for providing first mechanical energy from the first mover to the pump, and a second mover within the drivetrain to generate and provide second mechanical energy to the pump. The multiple sources of mechanical energy may provide flexibility with respect to system design and allow for alternative sources of fuel and energy to be used to drive pumping systems. This may reduce the total diesel fuel consumption necessary to perform a well stimulation operation as well as provide for configurations in which diesel engines may be excluded from the pumping process in favor of alternative energy sources that typically do not have sufficient torque capacity to power a pump.
