摘要： Disclosed herein is a method of preparing production tickets that involves selecting order data from at least a first data field in an ordering system, feeding the selected order data to a workflow management system, and generating a production ticket for a print production job using at least a portion of the selected order data to name the print production job. One embodiment employs a join identifier to include several related files on the same production ticket. Corresponding configuration tools and workflow management systems also are disclosed.

摘要： A method of calibrating a color image reproduction system in the field is provided. The color image reproduction system includes a color input scanner for generating a color digital image, a digital image processor for applying a color transform to the color digital image to produce a transformed color digital image and, and a digital color printer for printing the transformed color digital image. The calibration method includes the steps of: a) providing a set of calibration tools developed on a representative system, the tools including a scanning target, a first reference file recording the response of a scanner to the scanning target in the representative system, an image file for producing a test pattern, and a second reference file recording the response of the scanner in the representative system to the test pattern printed on the printer in the representative system; and b) employing the calibration tools to calibrate the color image reproduction system in the field, by: 1) scanning the scanning target in the color scanner to produce a first test file; 2) employing the first test file and the first reference file, to generate a scanner calibration table; 3) sending the image file to the color printer to produce a second test pattern; 4) scanning the second test pattern in the color scanner and processing the output of the color scanner through the scanner calibration table to produce a second test file; and 5) employing the second test file and the second reference file to generate a printer calibration table.

摘要： A system that allows a user to apply image processing functions to localized regions of a photographic or negative image supplied by a photographer. The image is displayed on a touch sensitive display and the user can, by touching the display, maneuver a window to pan, zoom-in and zoom-out on particular portions of the image to designate a region to be processed. The operator can precisely indicate where the artifact to be removed is located and will know precisely the area of the image that will be processed. Only the portion of image seen by the user in the window is processed when the user indicates a function should be applied to the image. That is, what the user sees is what is processed. The processed image can be printed or otherwise reproduced.

摘要： A color image reproduction system of the type having a color monitor, an image processing computer, and a color printer is capable of making a color print that appears as if the original image was captured by a photographic process. The effect is achieved by providing a transform embodied in a three dimensional look-up table formed by composing: a) a transform for transforming the color digital image to original scene exposures; b) a transform for transforming the video scene exposures to photographic scene exposures; c) a transform for transforming photographic scene exposures to channel-independent densities; d) a transform for transforming channel-independent densities to reproduced densities; and e) a transform for transforming the reproduced densities to control signals for driving the color hard copy output means.

摘要： A method and associated apparatus is implemented for utilization in a halftone printing system to permit a halftone dot to be written with multiple density levels. These multiple density levels are used to from a variable density dot edge profile. This implementation is particularly adapted for use with systems that represent halftone dots with an envelope that is formed from a combination of straight lines that are drawn from tangent points, on the outer periphery of the dot, through reference axis for the dot. The intersection points of the tangent lines on the reference axis define the size (density) of the dot. The intersect points are stored as sets of digital values for each size dot to provide a unique representation set that is used to reconstruct a selected dot size for the printing of a halftone image.

One or more of the cylindrical members may be supported in an end to end relation to extend to any desired depth in the water and distance above the water surface on a single elongated H-member to accommodate the depth of the water as well as the extremes of tidal flow and wave action in any particular locale.
