    摘要: A combination of apparatus for laterally offsetting power lines from a utility pole, and maintaining the utility pole in an essentially vertical orientation and statically balanced condition. A truss assembly is pivotally mounted to a utility pole adjacent the top thereof. The truss includes a tubular member which extends in laterally spaced, parallel relation to a utility pole, and which receives therethrough an elongated rod adapted to securely receive and support several types of power lines. The elongated rod includes several insulated candlesticks, or wire receiving members, on its top end, and includes several, longitudinally spaced holes formed transversely therethrough, each one of which operably receives an insulated, wire receiving bolt. To counter-act the unbalanced load placed on the utility pole by the laterally offset power lines, a guy wire is attached at its ends to the upper and lower ends of the utility pole. The guy wire passes around a pulley assembly which is adjustably interconnected to the utility pole. By adjusting the lateral distance separating the pulley assembly from the utility pole, the tension in the guy wire is correspondingly adjusted. Accordingly, by adjusting the tension in the guy wire to counter-act the unbalanced load put on the utility pole by the offset power lines, the utility pole will be maintained in an essentially vertical orientation and in a statically balanced condition.

    摘要: A device for maintaining separation of the cables in a 3-phase, electric distribution system. The spacer device includes three body members each having first and second, rod receiving, bored holes formed therein. In two of the body members, the first and second holes extend along respective linear axes at about a 30.degree. angle to one another, while in the third body member the holes are disposed at about a 120.degree. angle. Elongated rods are removably positioned within the bored holes, thereby serving to interconnect the body members. Each spacer device further includes a cable clamping member pivotally and slidably attached to each body member. The clamping members are movable between engaged and disengaged relation to the body members, thereby retaining or releasing, respectively, the electric cables.

    摘要: An assembly for clamping and retaining a cable in attached relation to a utility pole. The assembly generally includes a block portion and clamping member pivotally and slidably connected thereto. The block member includes a rear end having a bored hole formed therein, a recessed portion formed in its upwardly facing surface, and a pair of spaced apart tongues vertically spaced from the recessed portion. The clamping member includes a body portion and a pair of spaced apart forks extending downwardly therefrom which are movable between engaged and disengaged relation to the recessed portion. A pivot pin passes through the body of the clamping member and the tongues of the block member. The hole formed through the clamping member's body is oval in shape so as to permit not only pivotal movement thereof with respect to the block member, but also sliding movement. The forks and tongues are shaped so as to receive and clamp a cable thereinbetween.

The spacer includes a series of non-conductive, insulator members extending in longitudinally spaced relation to one another along a common longitudinal axis, and being interconnected to one another by an elongated rod which also extends along the common longitudinal axis. The insulator members each include respective conductor engaging portions, body portions, and a passageway extending longitudinally therethrough. The rod engages and extends through the passageways of each insulator member. The conductor engaging portions each include bar members that have a v-shaped notch removed therefrom to facilitate stable and secure engagement of the insulator members on top the conductors.

    摘要: An adapter for mounting multiple 3-phrase circuits to a utility pole. The adapter includes a base unit having a centrally positioned, female socket member, and three, angularly offset legs extending radially outwardly from the bottom of the socket member. Each of the three legs include bottom surfaces extending in a common plane, so as to permit the base unit to be securely attached to a standard cross-arm assembly by passing fasteners through holes formed through each of the legs. A candlestick holder includes a male socket member which is securely positioned within the base unit's female socket member, and further includes three angularly offset, bored holes for receiving three candle sticks therein. By mounting the base unit to the end of a cross-arm assembly and attaching the candle stick holder to the base unit, a 3-phrase circuit can be assembled in minimal space on a utility pole.

    摘要: A device providing an insulating support for an electrical conductor includes a body having a through bore with an upper, cylindrical portion and a lower, threaded portion. A hook extends integrally from the upper end of the body over the upper end of the cylindrical bore. A piston in the cylindrical bore has an upper end for mating engagement with the hook to define a fully enclosed passageway surrounding the conductor upon movement of the piston from an initial position, wherein the conductor may be moved laterally to a position between the hook and the upper end of the piston, to a terminal position wherein the conductor is fully surrounded by surface portions of the hook and piston. A threaded insert is engaged in the threaded portion of the body axial bore. A passageway through the insert has a one-way valve for injection of silicone gel into the cylindrical portion of the body bore to move the piston from its initial to its terminal position. An internally threaded, blind bore in the insert is provided for mounting the device on a threaded shaft such as those conventionally positioned on utility poles.
