    摘要： FOR TRAPPING AND RETAINING THE EXCESS PROCESSING FLUID DISTRIBUTED BETWEEN AN EXPOSED PHTOTSENSITIVE SHEET AND A SECOND SHEET SUPERPOSED THEREWITH WHEN THE TWO ARE MOVED LONGITUDINALLY BETWEEN A PAIR OF PRESSURE APPLYING MEMBERS TO RUPTURE A POD CONTAINING AN AMOUNT OF PROCESSING SOLUTION IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED TO PROCESS THE EXPOSED LATENT IMAGE, THE TRAILING END OF ONE OF THE SHEETS IS EXTENTED BEYOND THE IMAGE AREA THEREOF AND IS MEDIALLY FOLDED BACK UPON ITSELF TO PROVIDE A FLAP THE FREE END OF WHICH WILL EXTEND BACK AT LEAST TO THE TRAILING END OF THE OTHER SHEET, AND PROBABLY BEYOND AND UNDER THE TRAILING END OF THE OTHER SHEET, TO FORM A TRAP FOR THE EXCESS PROCESSING FLUID. THE SHEET WHOSE TRAILING END IS FOLDED BACK TO FORM THE TRAP SHOULD BE MADE OF MATERIAL HAVING SUFFICIENT RIGIDITY AND/OR RESILIENCE THAT IT RESISTS FOLDING SO THAT THE FREE END OF THE FOLDED-BACK FLAP NORMALLY REMAINS SPACED FROM THE SHEET PROPER TO FROM AN OPEN MOUTH FOR RECEIVING EXCESS PROCESSING FLUID. THE LONGITUDINAL EDGES OF THE FOLDED-BACK TRAP ARE SEALED TOGETHER IN SUCH A WAY AS TO PREVENT THE FLOW OF PROCESSING FLUID FROM THE EDGES BUT TO ALLOW THE ESCAPE OF AIR THEREFROM. AT LEAST ONE PROTUBERANCE IS EMBOSSED IN EACH OF THE SEALED EDGES TO EFFECT A SIGNIFICANT SEPARATION OF THE PRESSURE APPLYING MEMBERS AS THE TRAP PASSES THEREBETWEEN WHEREBY THE FOLDED-BACKED FLAP WILL NOT BE COMPRESSED SUFFICIENTLY TO CAUSE A BACK FLOW OF ANY FLUID WHICH HAS ENTERED THE TRAP.

    摘要： An endless conveyor mechanism for holding one or more webs and/or other parts on a rigid surface while they are conveyed along a rectilinear path comprises a plurality of rigid truck members arranged to move in a closed path one portion of which is the rectilinear path through which the web or other parts are to be moved, and means for moving said trucks so that during the time they are moving in said trucks so that during the time they are moving in said rectilinear path they are held in abutment so that their web-supporting surfaces combine to form, in effect, a single rigid surface on which the web or other parts are held by vacuum as they are moved through said path. The driving mechanism for the truck members brings the trucks into tight abutment at the beginning of the rectilinear path, then advances said trucks in butted relation through said path at a controlled rate, while at the same time accommodating for slight tolerances in individual truck dimensions, and then controls the movement of the trucks into the return portion of their path in such a way as to prevent them from bumping together and becoming damaged.

    摘要： A film pack for use in an in-camera processing system comprising a container in which a plurality of individual film units, each including a light-sensitive film and an image-receiving sheet coupled by means including a leader, a pull tab connected to said leader, are arranged in stacked relation so that after the film of each unit is exposed it can be moved into superposed relation with its corresponding image-receiving sheet for processing when the pull tab extending from the container, and camera it is associated with, is pulled. The pull tabs of all of the film units are folded back upon themselves and interleaved with the film units so as to be confined wholly within the container until they are pulled successively therefrom by pulling on the pull tab of the preceding film unit. The pull tab on the first film unit is adhered to a safety cover sheet which is wrapped around the stack of film units to protect them against being fogged during handling of a pack outside of the camera, and is withdrawn from the pack and the camera after the pack is placed in the camera to ready the first film unit for exposure. To permit ready assemblage of the film units, the pull tabs are provided with patches or stripes of a cohesive adhesive material so arranged that the pull tabs become adhesively connected together, and the pull tab of the first film unit becomes adhesively connected to the safety cover sheet, with bonds having the necessary shear and peel strengths by the mere application of pressure to the stack of film units after the pull tabs have been folded back into interleaved relation with the film units.

    摘要： An apparatus for feeding sheet-like articles along a path and selectively diverting them into one or the other of a plurality of bins where they are collected in stacked relation, comprises a series of pusher fingers spaced along an endless chain which is driven in synchronism with a source of supply of the articles so that the pusher fingers move in behind each article as it is fed to the stacker and pushes it until it is diverted into one of the bins. The drive for the pusher fingers is such that the fingers remain in substantially perpendicular relation to the plane of the article whether it is being diverted into a bin or is being moved along a horizontal path over one bin to the next, and the fingers are lifted from engagement with a diverted sheet as it enters a bin so as not to force the leading edge of the article against the side of the bin and damage it. To insure the article being dropped horizontally into a bin, rather than dropping in at an angle, means are provided in the bin for supporting the article in a horizontal position until the entire article is within the confines of the bin at which time the support means moves from beneath the article and allows it to drop down into the bin in a horizontal or flat condition. To aid in stacking the articles, one end portion thereof is provided with an aperture which drops down over an inclined spindle projecting upwardly from the bottom of the bin.
