Abstract: Provided is a method for producing p-xylene, comprising: a provision step of providing a C4 fraction comprising at least isobutene as a product formed by fluidized catalytic cracking of a heavy oil fraction; a dimerization step of bringing a first raw material comprising the isobutene into contact with a dimerization catalyst to produce a C8 component comprising a dimer of isobutene; and a cyclization step of bringing a second raw material comprising the C8 component with a dehydrogenation catalyst to produce p-xylene through a cyclization/dehydrogenation reaction of the C8 component.

Abstract: A method for producing a dehydrogenation catalyst, comprising: a step of impregnating a carrier with a first solution having a tin source dissolved therein, so as to have tin supported on the carrier; and a step of impregnating the carrier with a second solution having an active metal source dissolved therein, so as to have the active metal supported on the carrier, wherein the tin source is at least one selected from the group consisting of sodium stannate and potassium stannate, and the active metal source has at least one active metal selected from the group consisting of platinum, ruthenium and iridium, and has no chlorine atom.

Abstract: The present invention provides an indene composition having a content of indene of 80 to 99.5% by mass, in which a content ratio of a hydrocarbon compound having a condensed ring structure of a 5-membered ring and a 6-membered ring, and having 9 or 10 carbon atoms, in a component contained in addition to indene, is 90% by mass or more, and a content of benzonitrile is 0.5% by mass or less, and a content of sulfur is 5 ppm by mass or less.
