Abstract:
A method is disclosed for translations between a subscriber directory number consisting of a number of digits and a subscriber equipment number in a telecommunication equipment. There is a plurality of digit store cells for storing all possible digits which can occur in the different digit positions. The digit store cells with the lowest digit positions are directly associated to the subscriber equipment numbers. Address conversion cells each associated with a digit store cell contain a sum of two addresses, the address of a digit in the next higher digit position and the address of a digit in the next lower digit position. Upon translation in a first direction from the subscriber directory number to the subscriber equipment number a logical operation is carried out between the sum and the first address in order to obtain the address of the digit in the next lower digit position and upon translation in a second direction from the subscriber equipment number to the subscriber directory number a logical operation is carried out between the sum and the second address in order to obtain the address of the digit in the next higher digit position. Upon translation in the first direction a comparison of the digits in the first direction a comparison of the digits in the subscriber directory number is carried out with said digits in said digit store cells so as to find the address conversion cells and upon translation in the second direction a subscriber number digit is indicated which is found in the respective digit store cell whose address is obtained by the logical operation.
Abstract:
A PCM exchange comprises a space stage between a first and a second time stage, and has switching order memories for the control of time and space interchanges arranged in time substages each including a substage in the first time stage and a substage in the second time stage. Upon the connection and the disconnection of a communication path through the exchange, the respective switching order memories must be loaded with switching order information stored in a switching order unit. In order to reduce in a great extent a supplementary communication system between the switching order unit and the decentralized switching order memories, the switching order information is transferred via the space stage to the respective time substages via the same files on which the regular PCM words are transferred. The switching order information is transferred during unchangeably predetermined time slots which are not used for the transmission of PCM words.
Abstract:
A process control computer scans test points arranged in groups to perform operations in accordance with changes in the states of the test points. The data store of the computer stores the states of the test points as words wherein each work represents a group of test points and the bits of the words represent the test points of the group. A flag resister of the data store comprises a group of bit cells with each bit cell being associated with one of the words. During the scan if the change of state of a test point changes, the associated bit in the data store is changed and the flange bit of the associated word is marked. Thereafter, the computer need only scan those words whose flag bits have been marked.
Abstract:
A method for operating file gates arranged in the space stage of a time-space-time PCM exchange wherein each operation is carried out during one time slot chosen for space interchange of an actual PCM word is disclosed. The time slot is divided into two halves. In the first half, the space stage receives on an incoming file an address allotted to an outgoing file. In the second half the incoming file receives the actual PCM word. During both halves the address is stored and decoded. By means of the decoding there is activated the file gate which connects the incoming file to the outgoing file. Thus the actual PCM word is transferred during the second half to said outgoing file.
Abstract:
A time stage system included in a PCM exchange working according to the time-space-time principle is connected to incoming and outgoing transmission links on which PCM words are received and sent out, and further connected to files ( highways) on which said PCM words are transferred to and from file contact planes for space switching. In order to decentralize the control of the time switching, the time stage system is divided into time substages each of which being connected to associated incoming and outgoing links. Each time substage is divided in time stage units each of which being connected to the associated links and to two associated files of which one goes to and the other comes from the file contact plane cooperating with the time stage unit. Each time substage includes as many time stage units as there are file contact planes. For time switching, each time stage unit comprises word memories and index memories. The PCM words are written cyclically into the word memories from which they are read randomly with the aid of indexes stored in the index memories or vice versa. For allotting address numbers to the PCM words, each time stage unit comprises an address memory connected to the outgoing file. Blocking devices guarantee that writing and reading never coincide in the same word memory and that an address number defining the space switching for a PCM word is transferred to the respective file contact plane immediately before such PCM word.
Abstract:
A circuit arrangement for indicating changes of state in one or several bistable elements, e.g. relays in the interval between two successive scannings of the elements. Each bistable element controls two make-and-break contacts, between which a capacitor is connected, a change of state of the element implying that the polarity of the appertaining capacitor is reversed. This reversing changes the state of an indication arrangement which is subject to the scannings, a change of state of the indication arrangement being recorded upon a scanning indicating that one or several bistable elements have changed their states.
