Abstract: A valvetrain assembly configured to selectively perform a bleeder brake operation includes a rocker arm configured to rotate about a rocker shaft, a camshaft having a lobe configured to impart motion to the rocker arm through a pushrod, and a valve bridge assembly operably associated with the rocker arm and configured to be selectively engaged by the rocker arm to open at least one of a first and second engine valve. An engine brake capsule is operably associated with the valve bridge assembly and configured to operate in a drive mode where the engine brake capsule does not cause the valve bridge assembly to open the first or second engine valves, and a brake mode where the engine brake capsule engages the valve bridge assembly to partially open the first engine valve to perform the bleeder brake operation.

Abstract: A type II valve train assembly that selectively opens first and second intake valves and first and second exhaust valves is provided. The valve train assembly includes an intake rocker arm assembly and an exhaust rocker arm assembly. The valve train assembly is configurable for operation in any combination of activated and deactivated states of engine braking and cylinder deactivation. The exhaust rocker arm assembly includes a first exhaust rocker arm, a second exhaust rocker arm and an engine brake exhaust rocker arm. A first exhaust HLA is associated with the first exhaust rocker arm. A second exhaust HLA is associated with the second exhaust valve. An exhaust actuation assembly selectively actuates to alter travel of the first and second exhaust HLA's to change a state of cylinder deactivation between activated and deactivated.

Abstract: A switching rocker arm assembly includes an inner arm, an outer arm pivotably secured to the inner arm, and a camshaft having a first lobe to contact one of the outer arm and the inner arm to perform a normal valve motion, and a second lobe to contact the other of the outer arm and the inner arm to perform at least one of: a full cycle bleeder brake exhaust valve motion, a partial cycle bleeder brake exhaust valve motion, an additional engine brake intake valve motion, and a compression relief braking exhaust valve motion.
