Abstract: A lighting device includes a microphone, a camera, and a controller. The controller is configured to control a light source of the lighting device and determine whether an utterance captured by the microphone or a gesture captured by the camera corresponds to a wake-word. The controller is further configured to generate a command based on at least an image of an item captured by the camera if the controller determines that the utterance or the gesture corresponds to the wake-word. The controller is also configured to send the command to a cloud server and to provide a response to the command, where the response is received from the cloud server.

Abstract: A lighting system with expanded coverage voice operation includes a lighting fixture that includes a wireless transceiver. The lighting system further includes a remote microphone device configured to receive a voice and to transmit wirelessly an audio stream generated from the voice. The lighting fixture is configured to receive the audio stream from the remote microphone device via the wireless transceiver and to transmit the audio stream to a cloud server.
