    Abstract: A solar powered satellite system is provided. A power control system, for example, of the solar powered satellite system may include, but is not limited to, a first interface configured to receive a power signal from the satellite receiver, a voltage converter electrically coupled to the first interface, the voltage converter configured to reduce a voltage of the power signal received from the satellite receiver to a predetermined voltage, a second interface configured to receive a power signal from the solar panel assembly, a third interface configured to be coupled to at least one power consumer of a satellite dish, and a source selection circuit electrically coupled to the voltage converter, the solar panel assembly and the third interface, the source selection circuit configured to output a selected power signal based upon a comparison between the predetermined voltage and a voltage of the power signal from the solar panel assembly.

    Abstract: Various embodiments provide an antenna hitch mount for securing an antenna, such as a satellite dish, to a vehicle. According to one embodiment, the hitch mount includes a hitch mounting portion, a plate, and an antenna mounting portion. The hitch mounting portion is configured to be inserted in to a hitch. The hitch mounting portion includes holes that are on opposite sides of the hitch mounting portion and are aligned with each other. The plate is used to couple the hitch mounting portion and the antenna mounting portion to each other. The antenna mounting portion is configured to support an antenna. Namely, an antenna is secured to the antenna mounting portion by a fastening device, such as a mast clamp.

    Abstract: An antenna system includes technological improvements for achieving improved surface accuracy of an antenna reflector during manufacturing and assembly, as well as maintaining the surface accuracy in response to wear and tear on the reflector. The antenna system includes a reflector, a plurality of mounting tabs, and a backing structure. The reflector has a front reflecting curved surface, an outer rim, and a back surface. The plurality of mounting tabs are positioned and secured around the outer rim of the reflector. Each of the plurality of mounting tabs is independently flexible with respect to the outer rim. The backing structure has a central mount, a plurality of attachment arms, and a feed arm attachment. The plurality of attachment arms are secured to the outer rim of the reflector via the plurality of mounting tabs.

    Abstract: Various embodiments provide a telescoping strut with a fixed rail feature. The telescoping strut includes an outer tube having slits and holes, an inner tube having rail slots and an insert guide, a threaded insert, and bolts. The threaded insert is positioned in the insert guide of the inner tube, which is inserted in the outer tube. The threaded insert, positioned in the insert guide, is aligned with the holes of the outer tube and the rail slots of the inner tube. The bolts are inserted in to the holes and the rail slots, and are threadably attached to the threaded insert. The insert guide and the rail slots allow the threaded insert and the bolts to slide freely with respect to the inner tube. As a result, the inner tube slides freely within the outer tube until the threaded insert and the bolts are tightened. When a desired length of the telescoping strut is obtained, the bolts and the threaded insert are tightened causing the slits of the outer tube to deform around the inner tube.

    Abstract: An antenna mast assembly with an alignment plumb is provided which allows for increased speed and accuracy in aligning antenna masts. The antenna mast assembly includes an antenna mast. An upper end of the mast extends in a first direction and a lower end of the mast extends in a second direction with an angle between the first and second directions. The bend in the mast creates the angle between the upper and lower ends. The upper end of the mast is connected to an antenna. The mast also includes an orientation indicator near its lower end and aligned with the first direction. The mast assembly also includes a foot configured to couple the lower end of the mast to a mounting surface and a plumb coupled to the foot. The plumb includes a plumb indicator that aligns with the mast orientation indicator and indicates that the upper end of the mast is orientated vertically.
