摘要： A golf ball comprising a substantially spherical outer surface and a plurality of dimples formed thereon is provided. The dimples include polygonal dimples that are arranged such that the sides of adjacent polygonal dimples are substantially parallel to each other, and wherein the land area comprises first spacings and second spacings between adjacent dimples. The first spacings and the second spacings have substantially constant width between any two adjacent dimples and the width of the first spacings is different from the width of the second spacings. Circular dimples and circular land areas may also be included in the dimple pattern. The dimple pattern is easily adjusted to manipulate the aerodynamic efficiency of the golf ball.

摘要： A method of enhancing the appearance of a golf ball by visually distinguishing golf ball cover land area from golf ball cover dimples, comprising: providing a golf ball comprising a core, a cover and optionally an intermediate layer disposed between the core and the cover, wherein said cover comprises an outer surface defining a plurality of dimples and a land area between the dimples; applying a first color to the entire golf ball outer surface; masking either the land area or the dimples; applying a second color to the outer surface over the first color; followed by removing the masking to complete a colored golf ball wherein the masked area has the color appearance of the first color and the unmasked area has the color appearance of at least one of the second color and a third color produced by applying the second color over the first color.

摘要： A method for generating a textured surface for a golf ball is disclosed. Preferably, the textured surface of the golf ball substantially minimizes the drag experienced by the golf ball. The method includes generating a guide pattern. The guide pattern is preferably mapped to the surface of the golf ball. A shaped profile may also be generated. The textured surface of the golf ball may be generated based on sweeping the shaped profile along the guide pattern. It may be desirable to add protrusions or entrenchments to the surface of the golf ball to further reduce drag.
