    摘要: An assembly which includes a valve adapted for connection to a source of pressurized gas having a first connector, a regulator for regulating flow of gas from the source and having a second connector, and an automatic shutoff module positioned in the first connector, the module being adapted to shut off the gas flow in response to certain unsafe conditions, e.g., excess ambient temperatures and/or excess gas flow rates. The second connector includes a probe which is receivable by the first connector, and further includes a connector element that is rotatably mounted on the second connector and adapted to engage the first connector to form a secure interconnection between the first and second connectors. The automatic shutoff module includes an activator housing and an activator movably mounted in the activator housing, the activator being normally closed but being abuttingly held open by the probe upon connection. A thermally sensitive member or element is provided that yields upon sensing temperature in excess of about 200 degrees F., thus allowing the module to automatically close, whereby the module shuts off the flow of gas.

    摘要: A pressure regulator having a housing with an inlet port and an outlet port. A plug is located within the housing and dividing the housing into an upper chamber and a lower chamber, with the upper and lower chamber being connected by a vent. The plug includes a fluid path between the inlet port and the bore. A yoke is adapted selectively close the fluid path in the plug. A diaphragm is located in the upper chamber and is connected to the yoke. A biasing member biases the yoke to open the fluid path through the plug. The diaphragm is configured to move the yoke to open the fluid path when pressure in the lower chamber and vented to the upper chamber through the vent is above a predetermined amount. The pressure regulator can also include a second biasing member used to positively close the fluid path through the plug.

    摘要: A boost-enhanced gas pressure regulator consists of a bonnet and a body (main casing) that are secured together so as to capture a pressure-responsive diaphragm between both components. The body has an inlet port and one or more outlet ports. An actuator providing a camming means, preferably in the form of a pair of spaced control channels, is connected to the diaphragm to be moved with and by the latter. The camming means/control channels engage a corresponding pair of control pins on opposite sides of a movable boost tube, such that there is a direct-acting connection between the diaphragm and boost tube. The boost tube has external guide surfaces which serve to guide and control its movement, and it also has an internal gas flow passage in which a valve seat disk (valve member) is mounted. The boost tube is restricted to travel in a linear fashion with respect to an inlet orifice/valve seat by a plurality of mutually spaced guides that are an integral part of the orifice insert, upon which certain contact areas of the guide surfaces on the boost tube are slidable. The control channels, control pins, guide surfaces, and contact areas are designed to cooperatively mount the boost tube so as to position and guide it in precise, low-friction motion that mechanically induces a velocity boosting effect.

    摘要: A pressure regulator having a base and a bonnet. The base includes a plurality of upstanding ridges, with an opening being defined between each of the ridges. The bonnet includes a peripheral rim having a plurality of engagement tabs located within each of the openings defined by the ridges of the base. The base is connected to the bonnet by folding the ridges over the peripheral rim of the bonnet. The ridges include side surfaces that mate with side edges of the engagement tabs to maintain the peripheral rim of the bonnet against the ridges as tension is applied to the peripheral rim that forces the peripheral rim away from the ridges. The bonnet also includes a plurality of interference tabs that engage an interior surface of the ridges before the ridges are folded over the peripheral rim of the bonnet to maintain the bonnet in proper position.
