摘要: An on-demand security service ensures isolation of the service provider's customers where the customers share resources at the system, subsystem, and storage level. The security service is provided in a pre-production phase and in a post production phase. The pre-production phase takes place prior to boarding the customer. In the pre-production phase the resources to be protected are defined in a security guide, and using the security guide, physical segregation at the facility, network, and technical and delivery support levels is planned and then implemented. In the post production phase, on going activities are proactive and reactive. Proactive activities include maintaining physical segregation by reviewing and updating the security guide, and testing physical segregation by performing security audits and penetration tests. Observations and finding of the audits and penetration tests are resolved. Reactive activities include identifying isolation failures, coordinating appropriate actions, and resolving the isolation failure. The service may be embodied in a system and in a computer implemented process comprising a security guide file (SGF), a security guide application (SGA), a security implementation application (SIA), a security validation application (SVA), and an event coordination application (ECA).

摘要: An alert generation method and system. The method includes receiving by a computer processor, alert data indicating filters for specified alert types associated with possible future events. The computer processor receives monitor definition data and media generated audio/video data; compares the alert data to the media generated audio/video data; determines a first alert type matches first audio/video data of the media generated audio/video data; and determines that the first audio/video data comprises a primary event. The computer processor broadcasts the primary event.

摘要: The invention comprises a computer-implemented process for managing computing resources provided to customers in an on-demand data center. The process comprises: providing a shared computing environment; providing to each customer one or more logical partitions of computing resources within the shared computing environment; allocating at least one processing engine to each logical partition; modeling a selected customer's resource utilization as a beta distribution; iteratively selecting a random resource utilization value from the beta distribution and, for each logical partition, calculating a processing engine differential; for each iteration, calculating a collective processing engine differential until the collective processing engine differential converges on an optimal processing engine differential; and adjusting the number of processing engines by the optimal processing engine differential to achieve an optimal free pool size.

摘要: A method to identify information technology resources whereby a locator device is inserted into a communication port of each information technology resource, such as a computers, router, cable endpoints, etc. When activated, the device passively receives wireless RF transmissions from broadcast units in the vicinity while actively receiving and storing configuration and other predetermined information from the resource. The device can calculate the exact position of the information technology resource and store the location in memory. The location and the identifying data of the information technology resource can be used in an asset management database, to locate a lost or missing resource, or can be used for billing for service level agreements. The method and device herein is particularly useful in secure facilities.
