    Abstract: The light flux controlling member according to the present invention comprises: an incident surface which is disposed on the back side so as to intersect with a central axis of a light flux controlling member, and on which a part of the light emitted from a light-emitting element falls; a reflection portion arranged on the back side so as to surround the incident surface; a total reflection surface that is disposed on the front side so as to intersect with the central axis, and reflects sidewise the light incident on the incident surface; and an emission surface that is disposed so as to surround the central axis and the total reflection surface and emits light reflected by the total reflection surface. The reflection portion has a plurality of ridges for reflecting light that has reached the reflection portion after Fresnel reflection on the emission surface.

    Abstract: This light flux control member comprises an entry surface, a reflective surface, a circular groove containing a first circular surface and a second circular surface, and an exit surface. The circular groove is disposed in such a manner as not to intersect with the optical path of a light from the entry surface to the reflective surface, and, in such a manner as to intersect with at least a portion of the optical path of a light, from being emitted from a point other than the center of the light-emitting element, entering at the entry surface and being reflected at the reflective surface, to reaching the exit surface. The second circular surface is formed in such a manner that the width of the circular groove widens as the opening ridges of the circular groove is approached from the valley portion of the circular groove.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a lens (i.e., luminous flux control member) for an optical element of a backlight, capable of easily aligning the orientation in the plane direction. The luminous flux control member according to the present invention includes a lens main body and legs. The lens main body includes a light-entering area for light emitted from a light-emitting element to enter on the lower surface side and a light-emitting area for emitting the light entered from the light-entering area to the outside on the upper surface side. The legs are legs for mounting the luminous flux control member on a substrate on which the light-emitting element is mounted and are disposed on the lower surface of the lens main body so as to project downward. The luminous flux control member satisfies the following condition 1 or 2: (Condition 1) at least one of the legs is accommodated in one of two grooves having different widths, and all of the other legs are accommodated in the other groove only when the lens main body is oriented in one predetermined direction or an opposite direction thereto; and (Condition 2) the lens main body or all of the legs are accommodated in one groove only when the lens main body is oriented in one predetermined direction or an opposite direction thereto.

    Abstract: This planar light source device comprises a base board, a light-emitting device and a diffusing plate. The light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element and a light flux control member. The light flux control member has an entry surface, an exit surface, and a gate mark. The entry surface and the exit surface are formed in such a manner that the illuminance distribution on the diffusing plate has an anisotropy wherein the light reaches farther in the directions of 1 or more predetermined horizontal angles φ than in other directions, when assuming that the light is emitted from the light-emitting device in a state wherein the light flux control member does not have the gate mark. The horizontal angle φ range of the gate mark includes any one among the 1 or more predetermined horizontal angles φ.
