摘要： The invention provides a catalyst composition suitable for hydrogenation of polymers containing ethylenic unsaturation, which comprise: (a) a titanium compound of the formula, ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are the same or different and each represents a substituted or unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl or indenyl group, wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, halogen, a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, optionally substituted phenyl or phenoxy, or aralkyl having from 7 to 10 carbon atoms, or phenylalkoxy having from 7 to 10 carbon atoms, carboxyl, carbonyl, a --CH.sub.2 P(Phenyl).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 Si(lower alkyl).sub.3, or --P(phenyl).sub.2 group. (b) an alkalimetal hydride, added as such or prepared in situ in the polymer solution from the alkalimetal terminated living polymer and/or from additionally added alkalimetal alkyl and hydrogen, the molar ratio of the alkalimetal:titanium in the polymer solution during hydrogenation being at least 2:1; (c) a borium compound B(R.sub.1)(R.sub.2)(R.sub.3) wherein the symbols R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 may be the same or different and each may represent hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, or phenyl optionally substituted by up to five substituents selected from halogen and lower alkyl, or benzyl having an optionally substituted phenyl ring as specified hereinbefore or wherein two of the symbols R may form together a monocyclic or bicyclic system which on its own may carry one or more substituents. A process for hydrogenation of polymers containing ehylenic unsaturation using these catalyst compositions is also described.

摘要： The invention provides a catalyst composition for hydrogenation of polymers containing ethylenical unsaturation which comprises at least:(a) a titanium compound of the formula ##STR1## (I) wherein A.sub.1 represents an optionally substituted indenyl group of the formula ##STR2## wherein substituents R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and each may be selected from halogen, phenyl which optionally may bear one or more the same or different substituents, lower alkyl, alkoxy, phenoxy, phenylalkoxy, benzyl, and a bulky substituent containing one or more hetero atoms such as tri (loweralkyl)silyl, --NPh.sub.2, --NHPh, --BPh.sub.2, and --B(OPh).sub.2, wherein n may be an integer of from 0 to 4 and m may be an integer of from 0 to 3,(II)wherein A.sub.2 has the same meaning as A.sub.1 or alternatively represents an optionally substituted cyclopentadienyl group, and wherein L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 may be the same or different and each may be selected from hydrogen, halogen and preferred chlorine, lower alkyl, phenyl, aralkyl having from 7 to 10 carbons, a lower alkoxy group, phenyloxy, phenylalkoxy group having from 7 to 10 carbon atoms, carboxyl, carbonyl, a B-diketone coordination, a --CH.sub.2 P(Phenyl).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 Si(lower alkyl).sub.3 or --P(phenyl).sub.2 group; and(b) an alkali metal hydride, added as such or prepared in situ in the polymer solution from the alkali metal terminated living polymer and/or from additionally added alkali metal alkyl. The invention also concerns a process for hydrogenation of polymers containing ethylenical unsaturation using this catalyst.

摘要： The invention provides a catalyst composition suitable for hydrogenation of polymers containing ethylenical unsaturation which comprises at least:(a) a titanium compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 represents an optionally substituted heterocyclic five membered ring comprising a phosphorous or nitrogen heteroatom, and A.sub.2 has the same meaning as A.sub.1 or alternatively represents an optionally substituted cyclopentadienyl group or indenyl group, and wherein L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 may be the same or different and each may be selected from hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, phenyl, aralkyl, having from 7 to 10 carbons, lower alkoxy group, phenyloxy, phenylalkoxy group having from 7 to 10 carbon atoms, carboxyl, carbonyl, a .about.CH.sub.2 P(Phenyl).sub.2, --CH.sub.2 Si(lower alkyl).sub.3 or .about.P(phenyl).sub.2 group; and (b) an alkalimetal hydride, added as such or prepared in situ in the polymer solution from the alkalimetal terminated living polymer and/or from additionally added alkalimetal alkyl. The invention further provides a process for hydrogenation of polymers containing ethylenical unsaturation.

摘要： This invention relates to a process for removing hydrogenation catalyst residue from hydrogenated polymers comprising: (I) treating a polymer cement comprising an unsaturated polymer in an inert water-immiscible liquid with a hydrogen source in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst; (II) contacting the polymer cement of step (I) with one or more aqueous solution(s) of a weak acid having a pKa greater than 1.5 (determined in water at 25° C.); (III) contacting the polymer cement of step (II) with one or more aqueous solution(s) of a weak base having a pKa smaller than 10.5; and (IV) separating the hydrogenated polymer.
