摘要： Methods and apparatus for use in providing map-related file data associated with point of interests for visually-displayed maps in mobile communication devices are disclosed. One illustrative method includes the steps of causing a viewable map region of a map to be visually displayed in a display of the mobile communication device, the viewable map region having one or more selectable map elements (e.g. selectable points of interest indicators or off-map indicators); monitoring to detect an end user selection of one of the selectable map elements through a user interface of the mobile communication device; causing information corresponding to the selectable map element to be visually displayed in the display in response to detecting an end user selection of one of the selectable map elements, the information including a file identifier corresponding to a file associated with the selectable map element; monitoring to detect, through the user interface, an end user selection of the file identifier or a file function identifier associated therewith; and causing, with use of a file link associated with the file identifier, file contents information of the file to be requested and received through the wireless communication network from a file server in response to detecting an end user selection. The file contents of the file are provided in a converted format (e.g. XML format) from the original file for suitable viewing in the mobile communication device. The file identifier may be or include, for example, a file type icon or a file name of the file. Preferably, data associated with the files are maintained in one or more public or private databases separate from the network database which stores map data for the common terrain features the map.

摘要： A sleeping system is described in which comfort systems for a foam mattress assembly are mounted in a foundation assembly supporting the mattress assembly. The comfort systems include an air heating and cooling system, a firmness system and an elevation system. The foam mattress assembly includes a flexible encasement dish into which one or more foam layers are disposed. Blowers for the air system are mounted adjacent the foundation assembly top in direct fluid communication with apertures in the top, minimizing the air flow path from the blower exhaust to the mattress top to reduce air pressure loss and diminishment of the heated or cooled air.

摘要： A method in a mobile device for use in receiving updates of network-maintained map data sets is described. The mobile device receives, through a wireless network, map data for rendering a map. The map data has a plurality of layers, where each of the plurality of layers includes a version number and a plurality of data entries associated therewith. Each of the plurality of data entries indicates a plurality of data points for rendering one or more artifacts or labels within an area of interest of the map. The mobile device stores the map data, and displays the area of interest from the plurality of layers of the stored map data. The mobile device then receives, through the wireless network, an indication of an alternative version of one of the layers of the stored map data. When the version number of the alternative version is greater than the version number of the stored version, the mobile device causes one or more requests for the alternative version of said layer for the area of interest to be sent through the wireless network. The mobile device also receives the alternative version of said layer for the area of interest through the wireless network in response to the one or more requests. The mobile device also then causes the map of the area of interest to be rendered in the display in accordance with the combined plurality of layers of the stored map data, but with use of the alternative version of said layer.

摘要： This is directed to controlling the output of audio based on the mode of an electronic device. In particular, this is directed to an electronic device having a sound mode, silent mode, and mute mode controlling the output of audio along different audio output routes. In the sound mode, all audio can be output, while only registered or authorized audio can be output in the silent mode. In the mute mode, no audio can be output. The sound and silent modes can be enabled using an interface of the device (e.g., a switch having two possible states), while the mute mode can be enabled using an accessory coupled to the device. To disengage the mute mode, a user can provide a corresponding instruction using the accessory, or providing an instruction on the device related to volume control. For example, a user can change the device volume using an on-device interface, or toggle a sound/silent switch to a sound mode.
