Abstract:
A variable length cutting device includes a cutting cylinder and a transfer cylinder. The transfer cylinder cooperates with the cutting cylinder for cutting a ribbon into signatures having a desired cutoff length. An adjustable diameter portion of the transfer cylinder can be moved in a direction toward and away from the central axis of the transfer cylinder for adjusting the desired cutoff length of the signatures.
Abstract:
A sheet diverting system for the delivery of products arriving in a stream into at least one of two paths. A first supply belt acting in conjunction with a second supply belt transport a printed product held therebetween. A rotatable sheet diverting lobe diverts the printed product to one of a first delivery path and a second delivery path. A first delivery belt is guided around a first deflection roller and together with the first supply belt defines the first delivery path. A second delivery belt is guided around a second deflection roller disposed vertically and horizontally offset with respect to the first deflection roller and together with the second supply belt defines the second delivery path for the printed product.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a device for seizing flat material (1). The device includes a transfer cylinder (6) rotating about an axis and having an outer surface (16). A cutting cylinder (3) cooperates with said transfer cylinder (6) and has at least one knife assembly (5) mounted thereon. A set of product seizing elements (7) is arranged in the outer periphery of said cutting cylinder (3), actuable about a common center point (11). Tips (25) of said product seizing elements (7) cooperate with counterparts (9) on the surface (16) of said transfer cylinder (6).
Abstract:
The present invention is related to a paper conducting cylinder (8) of a folder assembly (1). A cylinder surface (18) has a plurality of counterparts (23) for cooperation with cutting elements of a cutting cylinder (3). Product seizing element (24) being assigned to said paper conducting cylinder circumference (18) are located adjacent to said counterpart (23) and said cylinders (8) surface (18). Said product seizing element (24) perform an extending movement about a first pivot point (25) and a seizing movement about a further pivot point (26).
Abstract:
A signature ejecting assembly for use in a folding apparatus in a printing press. A first rotatably mounted surface is provided, and a second rotatably mounted surface is movingly mounted on a bracket. The first and second rotatably mounted surfaces located within the product transfer area or nip of the folding apparatus. The second rotatably mounted surface exerts a positive drive force upon loosely held or bunched signatures during start-up, thereby ejecting the signatures and preventing jams in the folding apparatus.
