Abstract: A medium transporting device and a liquid jetting device, which can suppress the lifting of both ends of a medium in a width direction of a medium and can suppress the occurrence of wrinkling of the medium, are provided. The medium transporting device includes a gripping unit that grips a leading end region of a medium, a medium supporting unit that has a first adsorption supporting unit which adsorbs and supports a trailing end region of the medium and a second adsorption supporting unit which adsorbs a non-end region of the medium and generates an adsorption pressure less than an adsorption pressure generated by the first adsorption supporting unit, a medium position moving unit that moves a position in a medium width direction in the medium width direction, and a medium transporting unit that transports the medium. Regarding the width direction, the first adsorption supporting unit has a length, which is obtained by adding a length twice a moving distance of the medium to a medium length, and a distance from a center position in the width direction to one end in the width direction is the same as a distance from the center position in the width direction to the other end in the width direction.

Abstract: A drying system constituting a drying zone that supports substrates having a wide range of absorption rates, and a printing system are provided. This object is addressed by a drying system that dries a substrate which has a first surface to which a liquid is applied and which is transported along a transport path, in which a second drying zone in which a second heating apparatus for drying a high-absorption substrate having a relatively high absorption rate with respect to the liquid is disposed is configured upstream of a contact roll that comes into contact with the first surface to which the liquid is applied, on the transport path, and a first drying zone in which a first heating apparatus for drying a low-absorption substrate having a relatively low absorption rate with respect to the liquid is disposed is additionally configurable upstream of the contact roll on the transport path.

Abstract: An inkjet recording apparatus that can detect the floating of a recording medium and foreign matter with high precision. The inkjet recording apparatus includes a conveyor for conveying a recording medium along a conveying path, an inkjet head that draws an image by dropping ink on a recording surface of the recording medium conveyed by the conveyor, a detector that includes a light projecting section for emitting a detection beam parallel to a conveying surface and a light receiving section on which the detection beam is incident, and variable detection height mechanisms that change a height of the detection beam from the conveying surface in a first state in which the conveyor is driven and does not convey the recording medium and a second state in which the conveyor is driven and conveys the recording medium.
