    Abstract: An endoscope includes in a tip portion of an insertion unit: an image sensor having plural terminals including a video terminal which outputs a video signal; and a tip potion of a treatment tool channel which extends in a longitudinal direction of the insertion unit, and a distance of the video terminal is longest among distances of the respective terminals from a center of the treatment tool channel in a plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

    Abstract: An endoscope includes an image pick-up-device at a distal-end-part of an insertion-part. The image pick-up-device includes a lens barrel holding an imaging lens; an image-sensor having a rectangular shape as an outer peripheral shape of an image reception surface on which imaging light incident via the imaging lens; and a sensor holder holding the image-sensor in a state where the image reception surface intersects a longitudinal direction of the insertion-part. The sensor holder has three independent wall-parts respectively covering three side surfaces of the image-sensor, and on an XY plane orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the insertion-part, a gap length, in an X-axis direction on the plane between adjacent wall-parts of the three wall-parts and a gap length, in Y-axis direction, between the adjacent wall-parts are equal to each other. Additionally, the height of each of the three wall-parts is 1.5 times to 3 times the gap length.

    Abstract: An endoscope includes an image pick-up device at a distal end part of an insertion part capable of being inserted into a body cavity. The image pick-up device includes a lens barrel that holds an imaging lens; an image sensor having a rectangular shape as an outer peripheral shape of the image reception surface on which imaging light incident via the imaging lens; and a sensor holder that holds the image sensor in a state where the image reception surface intersects a longitudinal direction of the insertion part. The sensor holder has a fitting part fitted to the lens barrel, and an extending wall part that extends in the longitudinal direction of the insertion part from the fitting part to cover at least a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the image sensor, and the fitting part and the extending wall part are integrally configured.

    Abstract: An endoscope system includes: an endoscope including a side-viewing observation unit that includes a field of view in a lateral direction of an insertion part to be inserted into an object to be observed and a second protruding portion that protrudes from the insertion part and forms a blind spot in the field of view of the side-viewing observation unit; an image acquisition unit that acquires a side-viewing observation image by using the side-viewing observation unit; a monitor that displays the side-viewing observation image; and a display control section that allows at least a part of the blind spot of the side-viewing observation image in which the second protruding portion is shown up not to be displayed, and displays the side-viewing observation image on the monitor.

    Abstract: An endoscope includes an image sensor that is provided at a front end portion of an insertion portion of the endoscope so that an image receiving surface of the image sensor is disposed to cross a longitudinal axis of the insertion portion; a sensor holder that surrounds an outer circumference of the image sensor and holds the image sensor; and a circuit board including a sensor connection portion and an electric wire connection portion as defined herein; the image sensor is held by the sensor holder as defined herein; the sensor connection portion and the electric wire connection portion are connected to each other as defined herein; and an outside edge of a connection site between the sensor connection portion and the electric wire connection portion is located as defined herein.
