Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method may include, by one or more computing systems of an online social network, receiving, from an external event system, one or more external event listings corresponding to one or more events, respectively, wherein each external event listing comprises one or more items of event information, and, for each of the external listings: identifying one or more entities of the online social network associated with the external event listing, and determining whether the external event listing corresponds to an internal event listing on the online social network based on an analysis of the event information associated with the respective external event listing, and, if so, updating the internal event listing to include one or more items of event information associated with the external event listing, wherein the internal event listing is associated with one or more entities of the online social network.
Abstract:
When a social networking system receives a request from a requesting user for a content item associated with one or more comments, the social networking system determines an interest score for each comment. The interest score for a comment indicates a measure of the user's likelihood of being interested in the comment. Based on the calculated interest scores, the social networking system selects one or more comments for presentation to the viewing user along with the content item. The social networking system may specify an order in which the selected comments are presented based on the interest scores of the selected comments.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method may include receiving, from a client system of a first user of an online social network, a search query for event listings where the search query specifies one or more criteria, identifying first event listings that match the query, wherein each first event listing is associated with a respective first event and further associated with one or more predetermined categories selected from a plurality of categories in a hierarchical category index and where each category associated with a first event listing is determined using a machine-learning model that analyzes the first event listing, identifying second event listings based on the first event listings, wherein each second event listing is associated with a predetermined category from an adjacent category in the hierarchical category index, and sending, to the client system, instructions for presenting a search-results interface comprising references to the first and second event listings.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can receive information about an event. Event attendees are invited to the event. A presence of an event attendee at the event is determined. Content is received from the event attendees present at the event. The content is integrated into event media. The event media is provided for presentation to at least one of the event attendee during the event and an event invitee during or after the event.

Abstract:
In particular embodiments, a computer server may receive information regarding an event proposal from an event organizer, where the information includes an identification of multiple invitees, and where the information is missing one or more significant details of the event proposal. The computer server may send the information regarding the event proposal to one or more client devices, where each of the client devices is associated with one of the invitees. The computer server may receive feedback regarding the event proposal from at least one of the invitees, and based on the received feedback, the computer server may determine at least one of the missing significant details of the event proposal. The computer server may send information regarding final details of an event based on the event proposal to one or more of the client devices associated with the invitees.
