摘要: A method includes collecting state of health (SOH) data and usage data from a plurality of vehicles. A peer group is identified among the vehicles. A vehicle health prognosis is generated for each vehicle of the peer based on the collected SOH and usage data. The vehicles of the peer group are ranked based on the generated vehicle health prognosis and the rank is reported to an output device that is associated with each vehicle or with a user of each vehicle. If evaluation of the ranking indicates that the health prognosis of a vehicle of the peer group is improvable by modifying vehicle usage, an alert is issued to a user of that vehicle.

摘要: A method is provided for processing and analyzing diagnostic and prognostic data in a vehicle ad-hoc network. Diagnostic and prognostic data is exchanged between a host vehicle and remote vehicles in the vehicle ad-hoc network. The received diagnostic and prognostic data is stored in a memory of the host vehicle. Redundancy is eliminated in the received diagnostic and prognostic data. The diagnostic and prognostic data is assigned to clusters. Anomalies are detected in the stored data utilizing clustering techniques that determine whether a cluster of diagnostic and prognostic data formed from the host vehicle substantially deviates from the clusters of diagnostic and prognostic data formed from the remote vehicles. A driver of a vehicle is notified if the cluster data from a host vehicle deviates significantly from the clusters from the remote vehicles.

摘要: A system and method is provided for dynamically self-allocating channel access for communication between communicating entities in an inter-vehicle ad hoc network. A respective entity observes communication activity over each inter-vehicle ad hoc network communication channel. Available time slots are identified within each communication channel for the respective entity to broadcast a data packet in response to the observed communication activity on a respective channel. An available communication channel and timeslot are selected to broadcast the data packet. A message is broadcast within the inter-vehicle ad hoc network that provides a schedule identifying the communication channel and time slot selected for broadcasting the data packet by the respective entity. The data packet is broadcast over the selected communication channel at the respective timeslot.

摘要: A self-contained vehicular traffic travel time information system for a vehicle in an inter-vehicle ad-hoc network includes an on-board vehicular broadcasting unit for communicating with other vehicles within the inter-vehicle ad hoc network. A positioning device identifies the vehicle's position throughout a course of travel. An on-board vehicle processing unit stores road segments throughout the vehicle path of travel. The on-board vehicle processing unit determines a starting position and an ending position for each respective road segment. A length of time for traveling through each respective road segment is determined. A memory storage device stores the segmented road portions and the time of travel associated with each respective road segment. The on-board vehicular broadcasting unit disseminates the determined travel times of recently traveled road segments via a broadcast message to other vehicles within the inter-vehicle ad hoc network.

摘要: A method for determining which of a plurality of data connectivity pipes will be used to transmit data for one or more applications operating on a vehicle. The method identifies which of the applications are active at a particular point in time and identifies a number of available configurations based on the number of applications that are active and the number of the data pipes that are available to transmit the data for the application. The method identifies a plurality of performance metrics for each configuration and determines an optimal performance value for each performance metric from all of the configurations. The method then determines an overall utility function for each configuration that is based on its performance metrics and the optimal performance value and selects a data pipe for each application that is active based on a maximum overall utility function from each application's available overall utility functions.

摘要: A method is provided for delivering data messages in an inter-vehicle ad hoc network. The inter-vehicle ad hoc network utilizes a multi-hop routing protocol for storing, carrying forward and distributing a data message to various vehicles traveling along the road. The method includes determining a first cluster consisting of a group of vehicles proximate to one another traversing along a road in a first direction. A determination is made as to which vehicles within the first cluster are trailer vehicles for re-broadcasting messages based on vehicle position within the first cluster. An event is detected in a travel path of the first cluster by one of the vehicles in the first cluster. The event is reported to other vehicles in the cluster. At least one vehicle in a second cluster moving in an opposite direction to the first cluster is detected. The data message is broadcast from the determined trailer vehicles to the second cluster.
