The mobile device initiates a timed profile change in response to the user or an event associated with the mobile device. The mobile device monitors the profile period and provides a user with information regarding the length of the profile period remaining, as well as other information. 摘要： Described is a method and system for initiating configuration of a modem connected to a mobile device. The system and method provide a mechanism for guiding a user through the setup process in order to simplify the user's connectivity to a network using the modem. In one embodiment, the mechanism monitors for when a modem is connected to the mobile device. When a modem is connected for the first time, the mobile device launches a wizard utility that directs the user's configuration of the connected modem. The user is able to choose from performing an initial configuration of the modem, or migrating settings of a previously connected modem to establish the connected modem's settings. Thus, the user is guided through the configuration process, increasing the discoverability of the modem and simplifying its setup for the user.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for enabling application program compatibility with display devices having an increased pixel density. According to one method, a call including one or more parameters is directed toward an application programming interface for performing a screen input or output function is received from an application program. In response to receiving the call, a determination is made as to whether the application program is configured for use with a display device having a lower pixel density or a display device having a higher pixel density. In response to determining that the application program is configured for use with a display device having a lower pixel density, the parameters are scaled for the higher pixel density display device and the application programming interface is called using the scaled parameters.

摘要： Systems and methods for transferring data over a voice channel during a voice communication connection (e.g., a telephone call) using DTMF signals over a single voice communication channel. The arbitrary data can include contact information, graphics, photographs, streaming media, interactive game information, location information, cached web pages, audio clips, etc. Some or all of the standard DTMF signals can be uniquely mapped to groups of bits. For example, the standard DTMF signals for numbers “0” through “7” can be mapped to the corresponding three-bit binary representations of those numbers. The arbitrary data can be placed in a container with meta-data indicating the start and end of the data, the type of the data, the amount of data, error correction/detection information, etc. The receiver can prevent the DTMF signals from being converted to audio signals to spare any human listeners from hearing the DTMF signals.

摘要： This invention provides a system and method for a user of a mobile computing device to input special characters using a modifier key on a keyboard. The special characters include accented characters associated with regular characters. In one aspect, a computer-implemented method for configuring a mobile computing device for a user to enter special characters is provided. The computer-implemented method includes inputting a regular character in response to a user pressing a key associated with the regular character. After the regular character has been inputted, the user may input a special character by pressing a modifier key. A special character associated with the regular character is determined in response to the user pressing the modifier key. The special character may be determined based on the number of times that the user has pressed the modifier key. The inputted regular character is then modified to the special character.
