摘要: Techniques for expanded trusted domains are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, a trusted domain can be established that includes hardware components from a processor as well as an off-load device. The off-load device may provide compute resources for the trusted domain. The trusted domain can be expanded and contracted on-demand, allowing for a flexible approach to creating and using trusted domains.

摘要: Various approaches for service mech switching, including the use of infrastructure processing units (IPUs) and similar networked processing units, are disclosed. For example, a packet that includes a service request for a service may be received at a networking infrastructure device. The service may include an application that spans multiple nodes in a network. An outbound interface of the networking infrastructure device may be selected through which to route the packet. The selection of the outbound interface may be based on a service component of the service request in the packet and network metrics that correspond to the service. The packet may then be transmitted using the outbound interface.

摘要: System and techniques for infrastructure managed workload distribution are described herein. An infrastructure processing unit (IPU) receives a workload that includes a workload definition. The workload definition includes stages of the workload and a performance expectation. The IPU provides the workload, for execution, to a processing unit of a compute node to which the IPU belongs. The IPU monitors execution of the workload to determine that a stage of the workload is performing outside of the performance expectation from the workload definition. In response, the IPU modifies the execution of the workload.

摘要: Various approaches for deploying and using virtual pools of compute resources with the use of infrastructure processing units (IPUs) and similar networked processing units are disclosed. A host computing system may be configured to operate a virtual pool of resources, with operations including: identifying, at the host computing system, availability of a resource at the host computing system; transmitting, to a network infrastructure device, a notification that the resource at the host computing system is available for use in a virtual resource pool in the edge computing network; receiving a request for the resource in the virtual resource pool that is provided on behalf of a client computing system, based on the request being coordinated via the network infrastructure device and includes at least one quality of service (QoS) requirement; and servicing the request for the resource, based on the at least one QoS requirement.

摘要: System and techniques for power-based adaptive hardware reliability on a device are described herein. A hardware platform is divided into multiple partitions. Here, each partition includes a hardware component with an adjustable reliability feature. The several partitions are placed into one of multiple reliability categories. A workload with a reliability requirement is obtained and executed on a partition in a reliability category that satisfies the reliability requirements. A change in operating parameters for the device is detected and the adjustable reliability feature for the partition is modified based on the change in the operating parameters of the device.

A method may include processing a captured image to determine whether an event has occurred. The method may include detecting that the event has occurred by comparing an attribute of the image with a selected criterion, and sending, in response to detecting the event, an activation function to a network interface component (NIC). The NIC may be at a remote device, such as in an edge appliance, in a remote image capture device, or the like. The activation function may activate a bit-stream corresponding to the event, such as to activate an accelerator.

A system that includes a networked processing unit may perform workload processing with operations that: receive, from another networked processing unit, workload information for a workload, for a workload having respective tasks to be processed among distributed computing entities; perform an analysis of network conditions for a predicted execution of the workload, based on the workload information, to analyze network availability among the distributed computing entities; perform an analysis of compute conditions for the predicted execution of the workload, based on the workload information, to analyze processing availability among the distributed computing entities; and identify locations of the distributed computing entities to deploy the workload, based on the analysis of network conditions and the analysis of compute conditions.
