摘要： A security tag is provided that includes a housing, an electronic sensor held within the housing, an accessory pin provided with the housing and a lock assembly held within the housing. The accessory is pin provided with the tag housing and may be moveable with respect to the housing between locked and unlocked positions. When the accessory pin is in the locked position, the tag housing is secured to the accessory. When the accessory pin is in the unlocked position, the tag housing is disengaged from the accessory. The lock assembly may include a magnetically influenced (MI) member which is movable from a biased position to a relaxed position in the absence of the selected magnetic field to lock the accessory pins.

摘要： A theft-deterrent device (10) for application to an article to be protected includes first (20) and second (30) components adapted for locking engagement to secure the article therebetween, with a fragile vile (60) disposed within the first component containing a detrimental substance which would damage the article in the event the vial is fractured. A pin (15) protruding from the first component has a first end secured to the vial using a suitable attachment structure. The attachment structure provides an aperture which surrounds a portion of the “vial in a closely engaged arrangement, and also serves to rupture the vial and release the detrimental substance if unauthorized removal is attempted. The pin and the attachment structure can be integrally formed, or alternatively the attachment structure can be formed as a separate piece and attached to the pin.

摘要： An EAS tag in which the tag is held to an article by an attaching assembly a part of which is releasably prevented from being withdrawn from the body of the tag. The tag body is provided with an arcuate channel through which an arcuate detacher probe can be guided for releasing the attaching assembly part. A spring clamp provides the releasable preventing function and includes jaws specifically adapted to respond to in-plane torsional forces provided by the arcuate probe which is moved through the arcuate channel by rotation to reach the spring clamp. An abutment and spring gate mechanism is placed within the arcuate channel to prevent a relatively rigid wire formed into an arcuate shape from being used to release the attaching assembly part.

The methods involve: slidingly coupling a first engagement member (212) of the security tag to a first sidewall (208) forming a first right angle with a base (220) of an article; and extending a securement member (218) of the security tag across an exterior surface of the base of the article. A second engagement member (210) of the security tag is slidingly coupled to a second sidewall (206) opposed from the first sidewall and forming a second right angle with the base of the article. A length of the securement member is then decreased so as to place the securement member in a tensioned position whereby the security tag is secured to the article. The securement member can be locked in the tensioned position using a mechanical locking mechanism (222) of the security tag.
