摘要: A motor vehicle disc brake assembly includes a caliper (12) supporting a pair of friction elements (32,33) to be applied against opposite sides (35,37) of a rotor (14). The caliper (12) forms a cylinder bore (18) in which a brake piston apparatus (40) is slidably mounted to be actuated by hydraulic or other fluid pressure from a master cylinder (20). The brake piston apparatus (40) includes a first piston member (46) and a second piston member (60) disposed within the cylinder bore (18) and having a compliant member (82) disposed therebetween. The compliant member (82) substantially isolates the first piston member (46) from vibrations generated by friction element contact with the rotor (14), substantially eliminating operator detectable tactile vibrations.

摘要: In one embodiment, a cryptographic device is provided. The cryptographic device includes a persistent memory and a decryption control circuit coupled to the persistent memory. The decryption control circuit is configured to receive an encrypted data stream and decrypt a first portion of the encrypted data stream using a first cryptographic key stored in the persistent memory, the first portion including a second cryptographic key. The decryption circuit is configured to decrypt a second portion of the encrypted data stream using the second cryptographic key, the second portion of the encrypted data stream including payload data.

摘要: A gas diffusion vacuum device includes a supply of gas, a nonpermeable enclosure, a supply of liquid, an open liquid reservoir and a gas permeable cover. A first end of the nonpermeable enclosure is retained in the open liquid reservoir. The volume of gas is supplied through a side wall of the nonpermeable enclosure. The gas is preferably carbon dioxide. The gas permeable cover preferably includes a diffusion barrier and a porous diffusion barrier support. The diffusion barrier is wrapped over the porous diffusion barrier support and secured to a side wall of the nonpermeable enclosure. As the gas diffuses through the gas permeable cover, a vacuum is created to raise a column of liquid. A second embodiment of the gas diffusion vacuum device includes a supply of gas, a nonpermeable enclosure and a gas permeable cover. A vacuum created is used to perform work with an air driven device.

摘要: A portable therapeutic heating device is provided that may be readily worn and transported by a user. A flexible heating unit is attached to a body part and is capable of raising the skin temperature of that body part to about 102.degree.-108.degree. F. The flexible heating unit includes a plurality of distinct sets of electric resistance heating elements. The flexible heating unit is connected by a flexible tape to a battery pack which is mounted to the approximate center of gravity of the user's body. A switch is mounted on the battery pack, and provides for selection of which sets of electric resistance heating elements will be energized by a battery received by the battery pack, to thereby vary the amount of heat applied by the heating unit to a body part. The switch is mounted in a cutout formed in a casing defining the battery pack. A pair of rechargeable lead-acid "D" batteries are desirably received by the battery pack, and circuitry is provided for indicating when the voltage of a rechargeable battery received by the battery pack reaches a predetermined value below the rated value of the battery. A printed circuit board is mounted completely covering the batteries in the battery pack casing, between the batteries and the casing top, with all of the necessary electrical components operatively connected to the printed circuit board.
