    摘要: A device for forming a toner film for use in developing an electrostatic latent image on an image bearing member, such as photosensitive member, is provided. A developing sleeve is rotatably provided and a magnet roll is also rotatably provided inside of the sleeve for magnetically attracting a blade of magnetic material to the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve thereby causing the toner carried on the sleeve to be formed into a film of desired thickness and charge. The magnet roll is formed with a plurality of magnetic poles elongated axially and arranged along the periphery of the roll in alternating polarities. Thus, the magnetic attractive force applied by the magnet roll to the blade changes periodically. In the present invention, the frequency of alternating magnetic field applied to the blade is set to be larger than the first order resonant frequency of the blade, thereby allowing to maintain the applied magnetic force as constant as possible.

    摘要: A photosensitive drum includes a cylindrical core which may be fixedly mounted on a rotating shaft and which is comprised of an elastic material and an outer sleeve which is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the core and which includes a supporting layer and a photosensitive layer formed on the supporting layer. A combination of the elastic core and the outer sleeve is constructed such that the drum only deforms locally at a point where an external force is applied and its immediate vicinity while maintaining the other portion virtually unchanged. In one form, the outer sleeve is fixedly mounted on the core, and, in another form, the outer sleeve is detachably mounted on the core. In the latter case, it is so structured that no relative movement takes place between the core and the outer sleeve even if external forces are applied to the drum.

    摘要: A toner charging member to which a toner is conveyed and supplied is located in the vicinity of a photoconductive element which is to carry an electrostatic latent image thereon. The toner charging member charges the toner conveyed thereto to a selected polarity by friction, so that a thin uniformly charged toner layer is formed on the toner charging member. The charged toner particles are released from the toner layer on the charging member onto the latent image on the photoconductive element.The toner charging member has an insulating member on its surface. A first discharging means is provided to dissipate accumulated charge on the insulator substantially simultaneously with its operation for removing toner particles from the charging member those which were not been supplied to the latent image. A second discharging means is disposed in a position downstream of a station where the first means removes the residual toner and upstream of a station where the toner is supplied to the charging member, in order to remove the charge from the insulator.A number of microelectrodes are formed on the toner charging member or on its insulator to attain a prominent edge effect even when use is made of a one component type developer, which consists of toner particles alone.

    摘要: A developing device including a developing roller which has a resilient support layer and a dielectric layer provided on the support layer and developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoconductive drum through the roller by using a single-component developer, i.e. toner. The variation of development characteristics ascribable to the developing roller is suppressed by providing a resilient material which constitutes the support layer with a resistance value less than a predetermined value that is mostly determined by a relationship between the resistance value and the developing time. The fluorine-containing rubber composite material comprises crosslinked particles of fluorine-containing silicone rubber dispersed in a fluorine-containing rubber. It is preferable that the fluorine-containing rubber comprises a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene/perfluoro vinyl ether copolymer, and the composite material has cold resistance of not more than −35° C. and fuel permeability of not more than 500 g·mm/m2·day. The fuel impermeable sealing material comprises the composite material. The process for preparing the composite material comprises a step for co-coagulation of a fluorine-containing rubber emulsion and an emulsion of crosslinked fluorine-containing silicone rubber.
